"...I was the one who found your body." Ekko winced. Your eyes widened in horror as your baby brother gave you a sheepish smile. "I heard the explosion, and when I found out that it was coming from the very place I sent you... I ran. I ran until I was exhausted. I- I called out to you desperately hoping that you would come running and tell me you were okay... until I saw your body." Ekko looked down at his hands. He could remember them being covered in your blood. "I couldn't believe it... but n-no one else had white hair in the undercity." He let the conversation die off and looked at you with a pained expression. You were mirroring him as you felt your heart completely shatter, "Ekko, I-" Ekko shook his head and gripped your hand tighter.

"I checked for a pulse and there was none. I screamed. I cried. I broke down... My sister was gone and it was my fault because I sent her there. I begged you to go and save our friends." Ekko shed a few more tears, "But then... something happened. There was this... crystal in your chest." He watched as you rested your hand against it. "It sparked when I touched it and gave off an eerie glow. The next thing I knew, I felt a pulse. I couldn't believe it." Ekko gave you a watery smile, "So I screamed for help. People had come running. They cut the rod and made a makeshift gurney to carry you out. Everything is a blur after that... but the healers were amazed you made it. Mom and dad thought we were going to lose you, but I held on to hope. Grandma nearly snapped dad's neck for even thinking about it." He let out a small laugh and shook his head.

You sat back in your chair. 'Umbra told me that she couldn't connect with me until I died, so was that what the glow was? Her connecting to me?' You placed your hand onto Ekko's shoulder, "I feel like I should be upset with you for running into danger... but I know I'd do the same if it was the other way around. I'm so sorry you saw me like that, Ekko. I never- I wouldn't have let you see me like that if I could have helped it. I promised you that I'd come back with our friends and I didn't..." You sighed and dropped your hand. "Ekko... How long have I been asleep? You've changed. Y-You're definitely not eleven anymore. You definitely don't look the same." You gestured to him before gesturing to yourself, "I've clearly changed. So it's been longer than a few months..."

Ekko scratched the back of his neck and you winced. 'That's his nervous tick.' He looked away from you before sighing, "Sissy... You've been asleep for two years. Not only that, but um... mom and dad... they're dead." You froze. 'Two? Two years? No, it can't be... and our parents? I knew they didn't have long but I didn't expect them to die so soon.'

"H-How... How did they die?" You stuttered out. Ekko clenched his jaw and you could tell that the question was a complicated one. It took a minute but Ekko started the long story from the time he found your body to now. He held you when you broke down and cried. You felt like the world had crumbled underneath your feet. You didn't know who this Silco individual was but you hated him. He was the reason that everyone you knew was dead. Vi, Vander, Mylo, Claggor, and your parents. Powder... Powder was all on her own and left in the clutches of that man. When Ekko told you that she's been working for him, you couldn't believe it, but it made sense. 'If I had no one else and it was either I died or left with the guy who took everything from me, I'd probably go too. The undercity wasn't a forgiving place, and at least she'd be protected from the other unsavory individuals.' By the end of Ekko's explanation, you were more exhausted than you thought you'd be after two years of being unconscious.

You let out a loud yawn and blushed as Ekko laughed. A knock sounded on the door before it opened and the healer from earlier poked her head in, "Hey, you two. Ekko, I need to check your sister's vitals before I can give her clearance to leave." She put her hands on her hips and gave him a stern look. Ekko put his hands up in surrender and hopped off the bed.

"Don't worry, Miss Jane." He chuckled, "I won't get in your way." The healer, Jane, shook her head in amusement and walked over to you. She checked your vitals, reaction times, nerve responses, and got your weight, height, and grabbed your measurements for clothes. Thankfully, she gave you the all-clear and handed you a dress to change into.
