"I-I mean something to her, guys. She wouldn't. S-She wouldn't leave me. Not again." They don't have to say anything for you to understand what's on their minds. Their silence says it all. You thought you had nearly pushed past that nightmarish night, but the wound was blatantly revealing itself all over again.

"We don't know her like we used to. She's changed... She's not the young child we once knew, sissy and we have to get used to that depressing fact." Voiced Ekko, slicing the tension in the air with his harsh words.

The funeral went on until breakfast and Ty's image was added to the memorial wall. You and Ekko waited until everyone else ate and got settled before you gave yourselves a chance to relax. You had encouraged Vi and Caitlyn to eat with everyone earlier. It burned in your chest to leave the tunnel and to see that Vi didn't notice you had vanished for a few minutes. She was too engrossed in her conversation with Caitlyn.

You swapped your usual hot chocolate out for a cup of black coffee. You watch the steam rise out of the cup as Ekko takes a seat to your right. You can see how tired he is and you quietly make his coffee for him. He leans against you heavily as Heather slides into the space to your left and you exchange quiet greetings. You take a sip from your cup and cringe as you force yourself to swallow the bitter liquid.

After a few more sips from your cup, you place your arms on the table and lay your head down. You were exhausted. You had cried so much that it drained you of all of your energy. You couldn't even be bothered to question where Vi was. Everyone was like that this morning as the Firelights silently started their day. Even the children aren't running around and screaming like they usually do.

"I'm gonna head up to my room." You mumble as you rise from your seat. The only acknowledgments you got were half-assed nods and waves. So, you swallow the rest of your disgusting drink and drag yourself out of the lunchroom. Ekko had told everyone that since we've lost so many people in a short timeframe, all Firelight activity was going to cease for today. Everyone was to take this day as the time to mourn and be with your friends and family or take time for yourself. Ekko told you that he was going to take this day for himself to care for his mental health. You were proud of him for telling you that and had no issues with it. As long as Ekko was happy, you would give him the world.

You slowly walk up to the top, stopping every now and then to accept or offer a hug to someone. You step out onto the platform and decide to head to Vi's bungalow. The emptiness in your chest forces you to seek out the comfort you know. Old habits resurfaced the moment she appeared back in your life. You want to ask her to lay down with you for a bit. She has always brought comfort to you when you needed it and that was winning the fight in your mind. Besides, you wanted to ask her about yesterday. 'Hey, Vi. Did that sex mean something to you?... No. No. Maybe... Do you love me still? No. No. Love is too big of a word.' You sigh frustratedly and tug at your hair. You put it up into a ponytail earlier when you took the braids out. 'Is this even the right time to ask?'

As you get closer to the door, you hear your name being said. You pause before knocking and furrow your brow. You glance around, noticing that one of the windows was cracked open, probably to let air in. You hear your name again, this time coming out louder, and you creep to the window. You peek inside and freeze when you find Caitlyn and Vi in a heated discussion. You feel your magic ripple across your body, hiding yourself from any eyes. You focus on what they're saying after hearing your name again.

"Do you really believe what you're saying, Caitlyn?!" Vi shouts at her.

"As a matter of fact, I do. She's dangerous, Vi! You saw what she did to those people!" Caitlyn throws her arms out in frustration.
