"Let's get to it then. No one will miss me. We lost a child to the Gray so everyone is in mourning today. Ekko is taking some time to himself so he won't be looking for me either." You shrug.
"Shit. I'm sorry, Hex. How many kids is that now?" Jinx frowns as she opens her weapon locker.
"Five, not counting the one who died during the shimmer detox. It's another reason Piltover needs to realize that they're wrong." You growl and wait for her to finish rummaging around.
"Well, that's part of the reason I've been building..." Jinx turns to you with a huge rocket that has a shark face, "this."
"Holy shit, Jinx! This is amazing!" You squeal, "I-It's so methodically done, and look, look! Just look at the ignition chamber! It's spotless!" Your eyes widen and you meet her at the workbench. You run your hand over it, counting all of the chemical tubes, checking the type of wires used and you notice the runes carved into it. 'She's planning on using the gemstone for it, so she's going to have to get it back for this to work... unless...'
Jinx was practically glowing from your praise. You kept telling her about the things you love about it and she kept on giggling happily. You could swear there were sparkles dancing around her. Jinx explains how it works, what it's supposed to do, and says that the only downfall is once it's shot there's no way to redirect it. You listen closely to everything she says with a wide grin.
"I'm not firing it for Silco though." Jinx hums as she adjusts some of the wires. She dislodges one of the chemical tubes and places it on a rack.
"Oh, so you're not firing it at all?" You tilt your head and hand her a pair of wire cutters, "Why go through all of the trouble to make it then?"
"I'll fire it..." Jinx pauses and looks at you with a soft expression, "but, only for you."
"For me? Why for me?" You look at her in shock.
"What do you want? Right now, what's your goal?" Jinx strips back some of the wire casing.
"My goal?" You mutter. You go quiet and think for a moment, "Ultimately, I want a better life for the Zaunites. For every one that Piltover has harmed. I want to tear Piltover down so they see how we've had to live for hundreds of years. That's my goal." You say passionately. You glance at your wrist rubbing at the ice cream tattoo, "It's been two hundred years, and it's time things change."
"See?" Jinx bites her lip, "Close your eyes." You stare at her with confusion for a few seconds. You sigh and close your eyes. You hear shuffling before Jinx tells you to open your eyes.
"I had to hide it, so I'm sorry for the placement, but my regular outfit doesn't allow for it." Jinx explains and you nearly fall over in surprise. Her hands were covering her breasts but nestled between them was the same tattoo Zara had, except it was in the same blue as her smoke tattoo.
"Jinx-!" You choke and clear your throat in a hurry, "Why would you- You didn't- WHY?!" You shriek, unable to process what's in front of you. You run a finger over it to make sure it's real. When the ink doesn't budge, you step back in shock. 'How the hell... I should have known I couldn't hide anything from her. Jinx can find things when she wants to.'
Jinx gives you a sweet smile, "I couldn't let my best friend move forward without me." She says softly.
"I would have told you, Jinx. You know I'm open with you about everything." You reply just as softly.
"I wanted to support you." Jinx grins, her eyes never moving from yours, "You care for me more than anyone else. I can't let women like Zara get the upper hand! Besides, I had Sevika tattoo it." She says slyly.
