As a thank you, I thought I'd post a new chapter early! ^^ I hope you guys enjoy it.

Rainsong's POV

We were retracing our steps to get back home, we were moving at a quick but steady pace. I kept in between the apprentices and Bluestar and Tigerclaw. I wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone. Playing with Skykit really got me thinking about how I could've been playing with kits, my own kits. Or how I could've been playing with him when we were kits if he hadn't died. I wasn't in a good mood, honestly I hadn't been in a good mood in a while.

When we reached a fence, I couldn't help but just give a heavy sigh. There was no way I would ever be able to jump that. Grumbling and muttering, I watched as Tigerclaw looked at me with a mischievous and mocking grin, then jumped over the fence. Bluestar on the other paw gave me a sympathetic look before jumping over the fence. I had 2 choices, I could climb the fence and possibly fall on my hind-quarters. Or I could go ahead and squeeze underneath the fence with the apprentices.

I looked the fence up and down, the surface of the wood was shiny, meaning it would be too slippery. Growling, I squeezed under the fence after the apprentices. Being slightly larger, I had a bit of trouble. My back half got stuck. I had to turn over onto my back and push the fence with my forepaws to get free. My back paws came out with such force I ended up rolling backwards and landing with a soft 'oomph' at Tigerclaw's paws. I looked up to see a smug Tigerclaw looking down on me.

"Don't you already look down on me enough?" I hissed crossly.

No one dared to laugh at my escape from the fence. Not even Tigerclaw. Every cat knew I had beat him in a fight while training when I was an apprentice. Well maybe every cat but Firepaw now that I think of it. But I got up and gave myself a quick clean as a loner approached us.

Barley gave us a quick warning, briefly having a kind conversation with Bluestar. I grumpily saluted him, but otherwise gave no acknowledgement. As we followed the advised route, we ran into trouble. Rats. Anger still bottled and boiled up in my system, I went through each one that came at me with pleasure.

I bit each sack of flesh and broke their necks. If one was already in my mouth and another was coming at me, I squashed it with my paws. I even got to whip a few with my tail! The heat of the battle was making me feel good, letting out all this anger and emotion bottled in me. Before I knew it, I had flown through them. Sensing something was near I turned around in a flash while snarling at the oncoming threat.

"Rainsong..." Tigerclaw said with an uneasy mew backing up slowly. "Snap out of it."

I shook my head clear. "Sorry..." I mumbled, I had nearly attacked my clanmate.

"It's alright, I understand." He meowed simply as if it weren't a big deal. "Afterall you're going through some trouble."

Somehow I knew he was talking about my fallout with Whitestorm. Every cat was talking about it.

"You don't get to talk about it like you care." I hissed, shoving my face in front of his. That was a bit of a challenge honestly, I had to rise up slightly on my hind legs. But nonetheless, I got my face slightly lower than his, but close enough to make him lean back.

I think the apprentices - especially Ravenpaw - were slightly frightened by me now. When we entered the ditch, Bluestar was lying motionless on the ground. Tigerclaw immediately pinned Barley down. I gestured with my tail for the apprentices to sit nearby, Tigerclaw joined them after his short interrogation with Barley. They were all exchanging words of worry, but I didn't pay attention.

I crept closer to Bluestar and began to lick her wounds from the rats.

"Tigerclaw, don't be a useless furball and sit there, go get some cobwebs." I snapped as the giant tom just sat there watching. "Ravenpaw please get some marigold, burdock root if you can." I mewed in a much softer tone.
