"Jake, come on!" Finn started to tug at Jake's arms, trying to tug him up. "We've always been lucky, buddy! Maybe the first mud puddle we find will be the right one!" he tried to lighten the mood for Jake.
"Nonsense... but I like it!" Jake sat up with a newfound glee. Y/n perked up realizing that they were leaving the house.
"Then away!" Finn yelled before jumping out of an open window. He cheered while moving around so that he wouldn't fully hurt himself.
Jake was overly excited and decided to follow behind him. "Yeah, let's do it!" he cheered before flinging his body out. Y/n simply stood up and climbed down the ladder to the ground floor. She whispered small sentences to herself, mainly about how the boys would 'get themselves killed without her'.
Outside, Finn had landed on his feet while Jake landed straight onto his face. He groaned in pain. Finn gasped at his demise.
"Oh, my gosh!" he yelled out. Jake slowly brought his head up.
"I forgot that I don't have magic powers anymore." his face was covered in dark bruises. Y/n opened the door and stepped out by the time he got up. She took in a sharp breath just looking at his beaten state.
"That looks really bad dude," she spoke up. Jake let out some grumbles as he was embarrassed from the stares at his magicless self.
"How do we search for the mud without my powers?" he finally asked.
Finn was quick to answer. "We run! Run like energetic little boys!" Without anything else in mind, Finn started to run away. Jake and Y/n started to follow Finn, trying to keep up with his speed. Jake was trying his best to stay right next to Y/n while running.
"This whole time, I thought running was some sort of... leg magic." his pace started to slow down and his breathing was getting heavier. "Huh... Look at me. I'm runnin'!" his breathing was causing him issues so he started to go at a trudging pace. "Oh, no..." he fell to the ground in deep, exhausted pants. "Running... is... evil..." he got out through his breathing.
Finn jogged up to him, realizing that Jake had stopped and was far behind. "Come on, lazy bones!" he said, nudging Jake.
"It's too hard!" Jake whined out.
Y/n just bent down and pat his head. "Just get on my back you baby. I'll carry you." she offered to him. She turned so her back was facing him. Jake only tried to get to her limply.
"I can't reach," he groaned in misery. Y/n just scoffed and moved back so he could reach without stretching out. He climbed on and had a tight grip around her arms.
"Watch it, Jake, I'm not turning blue like my dad," she told him, indicating that he was choking her. He loosened up and found a comfortable way to ride along her back. Finn was walking up ahead while ranting to Y/n and Jake. She just kept a smile on her face, trying to get through everything.
After what seemed like hours, the three came across a long river filled with garbage. The smell was repulsive and it made Y/n gag. She could almost see lines from the scent.
Finn squinted his eyes while looking across the river. His eyes lit up when he found something. "Look there! Across the River of Junk! There's an ideal mud puddle." he pointed at the puddle that was wide and deep. Jake quickly slid off of Y/n's back.
