It was moving day for Quinn and the guys. Jade was in loungewear as she directed the movers on what they needed to do from the living room of Quinn's old townhouse. Elijah and Oliver's things were already moved over from Dallas. Liam had to tie things up but soon his belongings in Austin would be where they belonged.
They were almost done and were about ready to head over to Piney Point Village to unpack her clothes, shoes and dishware. Jade made sure all of Havok's things were packed. He knew every toy he owned and would throw a fit if something was missing.
She knew overseeing her sister's move would take all morning as Quinn had too many clothes and accessories, which is why she scheduled a late lunch with Jenna and Layla at James'. There was a lot they needed to catch up on and the timeframe selected was right at Layla's nap time so they wouldn't be out $1,000.
Jade walked into Quinn's new home that was literally a three-minute walk from her house and gasped. It was gorgeous. Liam was the one to find the house and he did the damn thing. The décor spoke to all four individuals in the relationship and worked as a unit. Jade wasn't surprised to find the home fully furnished. Liam was like her, Type A.
Jade knew that Liam wanted them to just start living. He didn't want a pause from the experiment. He just wanted to hit the ground running and she couldn't blame him.
"This place is amazing. Not too swanky, but classy enough." Jenna said with Layla on her hip. "What are you two doing here?" Jade asked as she tickled Layla. "It's 2:45. When you didn't come over, I figured you were still busy and came to see you instead."
Jade groaned. "I'm so sorry. They're finishing up now." A mover came to Jade with the receipt. "Thank you so much." Jade said as the remaining workers left the house.
"Quinn is going to love it." Jenna said looking around. Layla laid her head on Jenna's shoulder as a small yawn pulled through her. "Come on, I'll get a tour later. My baby needs her nap."
Jade gave Jenna a look earning a shy smile. They made their way over to James' house and Layla was fast asleep. "Let me put her to bed really quick and then I'll meet you in the kitchen. Get to cooking something good, wench." Jade rolled her eyes at her best friend as she thought over some recipes.
When Jenna made her way into the kitchen, she saw all of the ingredients Jade had out and smiled. "You're making habanero chicken wraps!" Jade chuckled while nodding. "I am, now dish! You call Layla baby all the time but earlier felt different. What's going on best friend?"
Jenna smiled widely at her and Jade couldn't help but mimic it. Jade listened as she cooked. Jenna regaled her with the moment Layla begged James to make Jenna her mom, as well as, the conversations she'd been having with James about themselves.
Jenna filled Jade in on Layla calling her Mommy for the first time and Jade wasn't surprised to see her best friend crying happy tears. "I'm so happy for you, Jenn. You deserve this. You deserve to be happy more than anyone in this world." Jenna smiled as she wiped her tears.
"I wouldn't have this without you, Gemstone." Jade waved her off. "I thought you didn't like my matchmaking skills?" Jenna chuckled at that. "I don't like your nosiness but I love that you saw a bright future for me especially when I couldn't. I have moments where reservations about James and me bubble up. The man has scars, but I have Layla and that means the world to me."
Jade nodded her head before laying a plate in front of Jenna. "He's got hurts, but so do you. Can you see yourself with James should those sort themselves out? Can you see a life with him?" Jenna smiled shyly.
"Yes. This dynamic we share now with Layla just happened overnight. It was quick and probably crazy, but it feels so right, Jade. Yesterday we were putting her to bed and she just started crying. We were so worried until she told us it's because her heart was so happy."
