Into The Void

(Amelia POV)

As the creature emerged from the hole, it stared at us through the glass, perching itself against the glass. "Mother of god" Owens said, disturbed by the creature across from him. Hopper started leaning closer to is, like he was studying it.

The creature suddenly let out a screech and threw itself against the glass, trying to break it. We all took a step back as it continued trying to break the glass, but stopped, realizing it's attempts where futile.

"It's... it's polycarbonate. It can't get through." Owens said, as the creature let out a roar of some sort. Right as it did, more of the creature started climbing through the hole, all now trying to break through the glass.

"Mother Mary and Joseph" the scientist said, terrified. "You sure about that glass?"Hopper asked Dr. Owens, who was now looking uncertain about his prior statement. Dr. Owens then pushed the button that I assume would turn on the alarm system to warn everyone in the building. We all rushed out of the operation room just in time for the creatures to break through the glass, and for Hopper to shut the door on them.

I ran with Hopper and Owens as Owens led us to the stairs. We started running as fast as we could up the stairs, and we soon reached Will's room, only to see Joyce and Bob holding him down, Joyce holding a syringe.

We heard growling coming from not to far behind us as they started breaking through the doors. "We gotta go. We gotta Go!" Hopper instructed us, grabbing Will and some small containers on the way out.

We ran through the hallways as a man was tackled to the ground by a creature in front of us, and a guard was shooting another creature behind us. We all rushed into the room next to us and hid there. I assume it was a security room because there where monitors lining one of the walls.

"Oh my god." Bob said, horrified. We all turned our attention to the monitors, only to be met with the sight of dead bodies lining the hallways, and those creatures roaming freely.

Then, the lights tarted flickering as the power suddenly went out. We where now trapped in the lab, alone, with those creatures and no power.

Dr. Owens had found blueprints of the lab and put it on the table, marking areas on it. "Look, this is us, and this is the nearest exit." he said, circling points on the blueprints. "But even if we somehow make it there, there's no way out." he continued explaining. "What do you mean" Hopper asked. "The locks are fail secure." Owens said. "Fail secure?" Joyce repeated in a questioning tone. "If there's a power outage, the building goes on full lockdown."

Dr. Owes explained. "Can it be unlocked remotely?" Bob asked. "I can break the doors down" I suggested. Owens turned to me as he continued talking. "It doesn't work like that. This protocol was in place when Brenner was here, it was made specifically in case something went wrong, like if you tried to escape. Plus, there's to many of them, it'd be to dangerous." he explained to me. I looked down, feeling useless as I could not use my powers to help.
