Still in reach of hands being held by one another, strange green and yellow flurries surround both you and Loki. A chilling sharp tingly feeling traveled through your body that flowed into your blood, now extremely cold, and shivering. Within seconds you two were standing in crumbled ruins and flames, it was without a doubt...Asgard.
Chunks of the Rainbow Bridge were completely gone and down below in the water. Buildings, monuments, structures, and statues of past gods were left as nothing more than ashes and dust that lay on the cracked ground. What was left of just about anything living had been singed to a crisp or caught on fire. The sky was a darkish grey color filled with thunder and lightning. Screams were heard from far away which meant that there are some survivors. You gasped at the sight and a tear ran down your red cheek.
Loki walked up from behind you. "Are you sure, you want to go on with this? Remember...we can run off to another realm and live together in peace."
"I want to end this madness!" you sniffed.
Loki placed both hands on the side of your head and gently kissed the top of it. "But...what would happen if your mother and father don't accept our marriage?"
"They'll just have to deal with it then." You took a deep breath and proceeded, onto the Rainbow Bridge, wondering if it was safe enough to at least step on. Foot after foot, your eyes kept staring in awe at the realm. Loki passed you as his pace began to pick up in speed. "Slow down!" you said while running towards him. "What is wrong?" you asked sensing anger. He did nothing but glare down at you and carried on.
While walking down the bridge, you said not a word. Instead, you continued facing downward as if you were the one to blame. You did not know why his mood all of a sudden changed, but it worried you. Every now and then you tried to say something or get his attention, but you knew him too well...you knew that when he was in this state, it was best to leave him be.
Surprisingly, Loki stopped and stood there at the end of the bridge, as you bumped into his back. "Sorry." you gasped. The raven-haired man turned to look at you. "They cannot take what is now mine! I will not allow it! I love you (Name)! I can't just let you leave my life forever!"
"But-" you began to speak, but you were then hushed by Loki, as his finger pressed against your lips. Both eyes locked onto each others with passion, like this was going to be the last time that you two would ever see each other again.
Loki's arms reached out to you, wrapping tightly around your body, holding you close. You two's lips met in a hard kiss that lasted a few seconds until a loud crack-like sound was heard from behind.
Before you knew it, Loki had pushed you away with a great force that ended up knocking you down to the ground. A crash was heard from very near. Dust surrounded you to the point where you couldn't see a thing. Coughing and waving your hands around, clearing the mist away, you saw a gigantic column, that lay at rest in front of you. "Loki?!" you coughed, begging for fresh air. But to a shocking surprise there was no answer.
Fear was the only thing that came to you, into your head, and body. Your hands began to shake really bad. After a few seconds, you finally had the strength to stand. Wiping some dust off of your forehead, you slowly walked around the column, seeing nothing. 'W-where is Loki?!' you thought. Your left hand felt the side of the column for support to balance correctly while you continued to circle it.
You came to a stop...now hyperventilating...tears in your eyes...you felt pain and sadness. Stuck under the heavy column was Loki's body.
You knelt down to him, staring, until you fell to your knees. "No..." you sobbed quietly. Your hand was gently placed on his cold face, eyes calmly closed shut, hair half way stuck under. His head slightly turned the opposite direction to your touch. A new experience surged through you. This new feeling, the feeling of true pain and suffering. It was an experience that you did not want and pleaded to stop and go away, but it didn't, instead the feeling grew. Your chest hurt like a million pounds were trying to drag you down. It was your heart, it beat faster and with every pounding moment, the pain got worse. Your heart was slowly shattering to what you saw...what you wish that you would never have to see.
Your head laid on Loki's chest, now bawling with depression. "Why?! The one true thing that gave me happiness and joy...gone." you cried out.
When after fifteen minutes of staying by his side, it was time to go. You couldn't stay there forever with his body, at some point, you had to leave.
Bending over Loki's body, you kissed his temple and whispered "Don't worry my prince. We will see each other again...one day." getting choked up.
'It's time to be a big girl and stop all of this crying nonsense' you thought to yourself while standing up. And with that, you walked away from him, head hung low.
Entering the palace doors you see that the whole area had been entirely ripped from bottom to top, full of broken artefacts, windows, furniture, and drapes. You picked up a burnt doll, laying on the floor, which must have belonged to a young Asgardian girl. It made you sad. To see such a beautiful place in ruins and a toy doll that belonged to a little child, who is probably dead by now.
You wondered where everyone was, where the All-Father, his wife, Frigga, your mother, and father were. Your head couldn't take the pressure. The fact that you left Loki, being alone now, and not knowing who all survived. Putting the doll down, in a safe place, on a broken bench, you exhaled loudly, hearing it echo back to you, in the lifeless room.
Knowing that no one was around to hear you, you screamed at the top of your lungs in sorrow, letting the stress leave your lungs. It felt good at first, to yell and let the pain out, but then you went back to that sad state as the scream bounced off the abstract walls.
Moments later you heard something. It was a familiar sound. The sound of running footsteps. You look up in surprise to what you were hearing. A slight joy sprung to your mind wondering who it might be. There was a large shadow ahead...a man's shadow...your father.
He was the last person that you wanted to see. Fury burned up inside you. "(Name!)" he yelled in joy, running towards you. When he reached you, he hugged you tightly, it was a warm, firm hug, but you did not do the same back. Your hands stayed at your side as your head remained staring at the floor. "Honey! What's the matter?!" he asked happily to see you but at the same time confused to your reactions.
You said nothing as your cheeks had tears running down them once more, trying to be strong and hold them back. They then burst like a dam while you started crying. "Sweetheart. Don't cry! I've got you. You're safe now. We've won the war." said your father, comforting you.
Shoving him away you yell "No! I am not safe! Get away!" He shot you a strange glare in shock for the way that you were acting towards him.
All of a sudden you hear more footsteps coming from behind you.
