Standing in front of the apartment she used to live in, a lone figure clad in a green floral jacket, black shoulder-less turtleneck, over-sized cuffed jeans & black combat boots.

Sighing as the exhalation caused a smoke like cloud to form before vanishing again.

This was the place she used to roam, where her parents put her when they decided she wasn't worth the effort. Iris genuinely thought she wasn't going to get out of that place alive.

Not because it was bad or anything, but the excruciating pain of being abandoned by your own parents haunts you, you know?

Staring up at the building, taking a step back. The rain covered building from the shower earlier that day caused the place to look like it had cried upon seeing her here.

Ironic really, she missed the home too. Her other friends who were there, staying with her, giving her more support than anyone ever had before. She hoped they were doing ok.

Turning around and starting her trek back towards her own home she rented herself, the wind picking up whilst closing her jacket to keep out the cold. Grabbing the hood of the jacket and pulling it over her head, the wind threw itself onto the street where she walked and nearly made her stumble.

Blehg, she liked this kind of weather, but not when she was as an emotional mess as now.

Stuffing her hands into her pockets Iris kept walking with the wind howling around her, the slightly darker sky reminding her she needed to hurry home and make some dinner for herself.

After finally getting home, opening the door and shutting it behind herself she sighed.
Running a hand through her green and black dyed hair, shaved on the sides with fluffy hair almost covering her eyes, with 2 braids on the side of her face reaching her shoulders. Tiny bones and trinkets braided into them.

Putting her jacket on the hand shaped coat hanger that she had bought, and walking further into her cozy little space she had made for herself. Plopping herself down on the couch quickly hooking up her phone to the charger and turning on her TV to stream music on.

Stepping into the kitchen Iris threw on her brown apron with white pickets in the front and baby pink ruffles on the edges.

A present from one of her friends from highschool.

.
.
She hadn't seen her friends in a while.
.
.
Shaking her head and getting the negative thoughts out of her head she noted a small note on the counter, reading it quickly it read.

"Hello dear Iris, due to a family emergency I wont be here for the evening or morning. I mailed headquarters about this and texted you about it. But left a note just in case.
A replacement should be here by morning! Take care! <3

- Haily"

Ah, that would explain why none said hello when she entered. Walking over to the living room and leaning over the couch she grabbed her phone and texted haily that it was alright and that she hoped everything was going well, and that their family was ok.

Placing down her phone once more she went back towards the kitchen and started cooking.

Her basic needs to keep her body running contained of pasta, vegetables, fruit, meat and nuts. So she put a mish mash of what she liked into the pot until she was satisfied with the taste and the result.

The night lasted way to long already, Iris was curled up into a ball surrounded by her favourite blanket and stimulation toy to keep her from having a panic attack.
The flashbacks had returned and on the exact night where Haily wasn't there to help her.

Fuck.

Iris doesn't remember a lot, but her last memories before passing out contained of drinking an ungodly amount of liquor and watching her favourite comfort series, the clone wars.

And then it all faded to black.
