FIRST EDDIE FIC WHOOP! also, requested on tumblr. #funfact when i was 3 i used to be a ballerina then i quit because i got lazy😳 anyway, enjoy <3

you were undoubtedly the queen of Hawkins. everyone was smitten by you and you absolutely loved it. you were kind to everyone, never let anyone feel left out, and all around you were just a genuine person. although you were kind to everyone and spoke to a lot of people, you were honestly very shy. you hated big crowds and speaking to new people gave you the worst anxiety, that's where ballet came in. when you were dancing, listening to the music and allowing yourself to move just made you calm. it was your only passion and seeing the ballet dancers on your tv when you were younger just got you smitten with the idea of becoming a ballerina.

Eddie Munson, the one person who you couldn't wait to talk to. he was called 'the freak' and you hated that. he was far from it in your opinion. he'd shown you nothing but kindness and his whole persona, to you, was welcoming. you had always found your eyes wondering over to his table in the cafeteria when you sat with your friends. he was just beautiful. your friends would make fun of you for liking him, they'd always say 'can you really see the queen of Hawkins High and the freak being in a relationship? that's social suicide. it would never happen'.

it would always make you feel uneasy when they called him that because they didn't even know him. Eddie was just as smitten as you were, he was practically in love with you. he loved how kind you were to others and he was happy that someone like you, the queen of Hawkins, spoke to him with such care. he could see when he was talking to you that you actually listened instead of pretending to be interested.

it was a Thursday lunch time and you were in a practice room in your leotard, skirt, tights, cardigan and ballet shoes. you'd luckily worn joggers over your leotard and ugg boots and kept your skirt and ballet shoes in your school bag. you had a competition on Saturday and you felt unprepared. it was the second biggest competition you'd been to and you wanted to win desperately. your whole family was coming to watch you and that added to the pressure of wanting to impress them, well, your whole family except your dad. he had something important to do on Saturday but he promised he'd make it up to you.

you were doing your routine to the music your coach had picked out for you, the boombox in the corner of the room. you started doing the three pirouettes that were at the end of your routine, groaning when you messed up the third one. you jumped when you heard clapping coming from the door. you whipped your head around, seeing Eddie standing there, a wide smile on his face as he clapped. "Jesus Eddie, what are you doing here?" you asked, you hand going over your chest as you tried to catch your breath.

"i heard the music and i knew it was you, i wanted to watch you dance. you're really good" he said, walking more into the practice room. a bright red blush covered your cheeks as he walked closer to you. "thank you" you said shyly, tucking the loose hairs that fell out of your claw clip behind your ear. it was silent for a minute before Eddie spoke up again. "that was a full on routine, you doing a dance recital or something?" he asked, the look on his face was genuine, like he really wanted to know why you had a whole routine completed.

"i have a competition on Saturday. just want to feel ready for it instead of being nervous. but the stupid pirouettes at the end. i can never do three after a full routine." you admitted. being a ballerina had its downside. one routine could wipe you out just because of how difficult it was. the pressure on your feet and legs was definitely the worst thing about it. "why don't you try it again? just don't think to much about it and it'll just flow. you'll get it before Saturday i guarantee" he said, smiling at you. you sighed and nodded, walking back over to the boombox to replay the song.
