"Are you Firestar?" She suddenly blurted out after a prolonged eye contact between the two.

"I beg your pard–" He was about to ask before the small she-kit suddenly got a dazed look in her eyes before shaking her head.

"What were you saying?" She said in a sweet tone, as if she hadn't said a single odd thing.

Upon arrival, they found the camp in hysterics. Every cat was awake and Brambleclaw seemed to be ordering for patrols.

"What's going on here!?" Firestar yowled.

"There you are!" Sandstorm half-screeched before bounding over and scolding him. "You should have told some cat you were going out! I woke up to find your side of the nest empty! Empty!"

"Sandstorm, I'm not a kit, I couldn't have been taken by a badger or a fox." He pointed out.

His mate merely blinked for a moment, some sense starting to enter her head. "I guess you're right. I'm afraid our brains weren't in their right states."

Brambleclaw yawned. "I agree, I think I would have had some sense if it weren't for the fact that we've been woken up only a bit past moon high."

"Who're they?" Leafpool suddenly asked. Her eyes locked on the two kits.

"Ah, right." Firestar looked at the pair of kits. "Rainkit, Skykit, this is ThunderClan. Your new home."

"Leafpool, take them and have Jayfeather give them a thorough check-up. Brambleclaw, Sandstorm, Graystripe, Dustpelt, Brackenfur, Thornclaw, Brightheart, Cloudtail, Ashfur, Ferncloud and Longtail go and wait by the medicine den entrance. I'd like to talk to all of you, Leafpool, you too." He ordered.

Jaypaw Third Person POV

Jaypaw sniffed the kits carefully for infection or sickness. He checked their heartbeats and how plump they were. He did his work silently so that he was able to eavesdrop on the conversation happening outside in hushed voices.

"What were you able to find out?" Firestar asked some cat.

"The tom–Skykit, claims they're littermates and that they're four moons old." Leafpool replied. "But the she-kit–Rainkit, looks around two moons old. However, she is also rather adamant that she's Skykit's littermate."

Jaypaw took some tansy from the herb store. He passed it to the kits. "Each of you eat some of it. It'll help you fight off coughs–if you have one, and will help prevent you from getting whitecough and greencough."

After he heard the kits swallow the tansy, he moved closer to the entrance of the den and listened in on the conversation again.

"She reminds me a lot of Rainsong. They look nearly identical." Brightheart's soft mew said.

Rainsong? As in the Rainsong from Ferncloud's nursery tales? Jayfeather wondered.

"Absolutely what I thought when I found her." Firestar agreed. "She even acts like her. When I first found them, Rainkit was looking up at the sky claiming that she was listening to the song in the rain."

"I remember that, Rainsong would take us to listen to our own songs when we were apprentices." Dustpelt purred. "It's a shame the next bunch of apprentices couldn't get that training. It was rather valuable and useful."

"Indeed. I also had a message from Bluestar two nights ago." Firstar added. "She told me: 'When there is a Storm in the Sky, there is always Rain. And in the Rain, there is always a song.' I'm unsure as to what it means, but it sounds like it has an awful lot to do with Rainsong."

The group of cats before him started murmuring to one another.

Leafpool was the first to speak up. "Two moons ago, Spottedleaf came to me. She told me that Rainsong would come to me in a matter of time. I don't know in what sense she meant it, but could this possibly be it?"
