Chapter 19: Abhira's Tilak

Recap: Harshvardhan does not approve of Akshara and tries to make her deny Abhimanyu but she holds her ground. Abhimanyu gets into a tiff with him. Later, Birlas and Singhanias meet and Harshvardhan is stunned to realize Akshara's relationship with them. Abhira's alliance is finalized along with the wedding dates.

The week after Singhanias and Birlas fixed the alliance was a busy one. Both families decided that the functions till engagement should be private and family only, which to Birla's surprise and delight, did not include the Goenkas. The family finalized the venues and guest list was small. Anisha flew back to the city for her brother's functions. Maheswaris and others were set to arrive a day before the tilak while Krish was set to come on the day of tilak itself but no one had told about him to Akshara.

All of Akshara's friends were out of station and would come directly for the wedding. She herself lacked time as she was running around the town for her dresses and jewellery. She was also actively participating in preparations as she wanted to help around. Moreover, she was also applying to various hospitals and NGOs at Udaipur.

Two days before Tilak

Akshara was standing in front of the mirror at a boutique. She studied the blue fabric and how it looked on her.

Isha: bs kr, itna ghooregi to koi na koi kami nikal hi legi...

Akshara looked at her friend's face on the screen. Simran just laughed and agreed with Isha.

Akshara: You guys are no help!

Reet: Then why did you not bring someone with you?

Isha: sb pareshan ho gaye isliye ab koi nahi aata madam ke saath..

Simran: arey nahi, akele ayegi tbhi to jiju lene ayenge aur uhem uhem! Time spend karenge...

Akshara: shut up yrr!!

She blushed. Her friends were helping her out with the dresses online.

Reet: accha chal, I will have to go... mera lunch break khtm hone wala hai...

Isha: I should also go..

Simran: (yawns) that is why I work for myself...

Akshara: Bye!! And iss baar kuch nahi kaha maine lekin wedding ke time no excuse..

They agreed and Akshara ended the call. She changed out of the dress into her semi-formal outfit. She checked the time and walked outside smiling. Her boyfriend who will soon become her fiancé was standing outside, waiting for her. She skipped towards him.

Akshara: Hi!!

Abhimanyu: Akshu! Did you like the dress? Fit well?

Akshara: yep, they made it quite nice in such a short time. Bs kuch alterations hai...they'll deliver at home later..

Abhimanyu: Great! Chale?

Akshara nodded nervously and sat on his bike. She placed her hands on his shoulders but he made her place them at his waist and rubbed her hand.

Abhimanyu: Don't be nervous. You'll rock it... I know...

He drove Akshara to the hospital where they dropped her application and then took her to another one where there was a walk in interview happening. By the time Akshara reached there, there was a small line. Abhimanyu held her hand and asked her not be nervous.

Abhimanyu: Do your best and leave the rest...

He sat with her and waited while she gave the interview. She came out with a sulky face.
