"Okay that's good, babe." She let out a sigh of relief and I heard her lay on her bed as I pulled my clothes back up. "How does it feel like to be drugged?"
"Like shit." I muttered, as I picked out a packet of ready made crepes from the fridge that I would just need to heat up. "I think he brought me here." I said, placing the three crepes onto a plate I found from the fully stocked kitchen. "I feel like I'm going to collapse any second."
"Take a day off tonight from work. Just rest at home or even at the penthouse."
I glanced around the penthouse. "Betty, it feels surreal." I let out a sigh. "Nothing feels real right now."
"What do you mean babe?" She asked with concern in her voice as I picked up the Nutella jar from the top cupboard and unscrewed the lid, taking the gold wrapper off.
"I kissed Alex last night. I went to a club to find a stranger. I got drugged and was brought to a penthouse. Tell me how much of this is my life?" I questioned, feeling drained as I spread the Nutella onto the hot crepes. It melted instantly.
"You kissed Alex?" She gasped. "Tell me more."
"He kissed me and I kissed him back?"
"Well duh babez it would look stupid if you just stood there with your lips closed. Was there tongue? Was he sloppy? Did it feel good?"
"I don't know." I took a bite of the crepe and swallowed it before answering her. "It felt really nice though."
She laughed. "That's good. And about going to a club, it's fine. You're nineteen, you were excited, you were already high on a kiss, so you made a decision. Thankfully it landed you in safe hands."
"And what if I didn't?"
What if I had gone home drugged, unable to take care of myself?
"We don't think of the what ifs." I heard her sitting up. "Find some tablets and take it once you eat."
"He left a note." I blurted out walking back towards the room as she let out a shriek of giggles, excitement clear in her voice as I picked up the note and the pills and walked towards the kitchen again. "He said not to take aspirin on an empty stomach." I turned the paper around, reading the back. "Oh."
"Oh what?"
"You are never to step foot in that club alone. You are banned." I read the note and frowned, taking a bite out of my food.
"Oh." Betty sounded disappointed. "Was he there when you got there?"
I shook my head, though she couldn't see. "He had said he had left."
"And then he came back?"
"He's stalking me, Betty." I placed the plate onto the counter, glancing around the perfect Penthouse. "What if it's a trap?" I blurted out.
"To trap your heart then yeah, maybe."
"No." I hissed, the thought crossing my mind as I took her off speaker and pressed the phone against my ear. "It doesn't make any sense. I'm given money, stupid and crazy amount because he's sent more. I'm giving a penthouse. No questions asked and he doesn't want to be paid back either, claiming its a gift."
"So? I'm not following babe."
"What if he stole the money?" I blurted out. "No sane person would give this much money to a stranger. What if its stolen and he's framing me?" He had laughed when I had said he was framing me.
"Okay.." Her voice drifted off as if she was thinking it over.
"What if the penthouse is a crime scene? What if he killed someone in here and he drugged me, knowing I would come to the club, just so he could bring me here and frame me for the murder." My heart raced in chest, as if it would fall out of my body as a thousand thoughts crossed my mind within a second.
"Clean the house." Betty ordered. "There should be some cleaning supplies, so clean the house. Wear gloves. Don't touch anything without gloves. Wipe everything you used, wash the bedsheets you slept on."
I nodded my head, cursing quietly. "I can't believe I was so stupid to go clubbing last night." I shook my head, opening all the cupboards after putting the phone on speaker again.
"It's fine." She laughed. "Next time just wait until I pick up and then we can decide together if we want to go clubbing."
I agreed with her getting all the cleaning pockets out and a pair of disposable gloves. "I'll call you later when I'm out of here." I said and she answered with an okay, ending the call herself.
I had fucked up.

My body ached as I dragged it up the street to my house. The penthouse had been cleaned spotless and I had left the keys with Laura at the reception.
She had given me another set of keys, telling me my own car was parked outside. Mercedes keys. The first thought that had crossed my mind was that she was setting me up. It would be a runaway car, or a stolen one, or the one they had done a murder in so I had refused, ignored her, and walked out of the hotel never looking back.
"Young lady." Susan and Mary stood in front of their houses, both of their arms crossed, and a look or disappointment appeared on their faces as I stood near my front gate. "Where were you?" Mary questioned, lowering her arms, and a look of concern on her face. "Joe said you were safe."
I frowned at the words. Had Joe seen me? Had he come to the penthouse? Did he know about the money?
"I just got a lot to drink last night." I lied, knowing I couldn't tell them that I had been drugged. "I'm sorry, I passed out which is why I couldn't answer the phone."
"You listen here-" Susan sighed, walking out of the gate in front of her house and towards me. "Your mom might be a bitch and you might think you've lost everyone but you're not going to start drinking and doing drugs, okay?" She gripped me by the shoulders, pushing my dirty hair behind my shoulders. "You have us." She cupped my cheeks and I nodded my head, a small tired smile on my face.
"Thank you." I wrapped my arms around her tightly and she kissed the top of my head. Susan, despite only being fifteen years older than me, she acted like my mom. The one who had gave me the talk about condoms, and gave me advice about boys while my own mom had spent nights outside.
She let me go, and I walked towards Mary, wrapping my arms around her tiny figure. Mary had taken care of me, letting me stay with her and Tom the night I had been too scared to sleep alone in a quiet house when mom left.
She patted my back before letting me go. "Go get some rest." She said and I nodded, blowing each woman a kiss before walking into my house.
I closed the front door before collapsing onto the couch with a groan as exhaustion crawled up my skin. I was shattered or as Andy would says knackered.
I had spent an hour cleaning everything I had touched, wiping all the surfaces, mopping the floor as well as I wore disposable bags to my feet as well, making sure I was leaving no finger or toe prints behind.
I closed my eyes, yawning as the tiredness still lingered in my body. I had the whole day to sleep.
