I stretched my body out on the bed, yawning, hoping sleep would come to me at two in the bloody morning but it wouldn't. I placed a hand on my stomach and sighed. Twins were exciting. Betty could help me look after them, we were already planning days on how to dress them to confuse everyone.

I hadn't told anyone I was pregnant. Betty, Maria and Laura knew. And Rafael but that was it. I didn't want everyone to know. Betty and I had gone shopping after the ultrasound scan, and we had bought two boy outfits because I felt like I was probably going to be the mom who had sons.

Smiling to myself, I looked out the window. Having a daughter would be different. I would never let her go through what I went through. Joe would teach them how to ride a motorbike, Mary and Tom would teach them the love of music and dancing, Betty would be the wild aunt that would feed them sugary stuff, Susan would be gushing over them because she loved babies.

Laura and Maria would want to be part of it and they'd show them the art of seduction after they reached a certain age. I rubbed my face, thinking of Rafael. My body wanted to be touched by him, even just to be cuddled but he hadn't come last night to this room.

Letting out a soft groan, I sat up in bed. Neither had he come to pick me up from work or even ring me during the day. I pulled the duvet away from my legs and climbed out of bed.

He was being ridiculous. He didn't want the babies but he wanted me and yet he wasn't speaking to me. Rafael was not speaking to me and it was messing with my mind.

Pushing my hair out of my face, I walked out of the room, heading straight for the third set of stairs. I jogged upstairs, still in my Minnie mouse pyjamas before I walked towards his door.

Was I being stupid? Was this pressurising? For one night I didn't want to care. I twisted his door handle and walked into his room to see him sleeping, facing the window. Asshole. I closed the door and walked towards his bed. He didn't move, sleeping peacefully.

He was sleeping in my spot. I hated the right side. "Are you awake?" I whispered but he didn't answer me. Cursing under my breath, I lifted the duvet up a little and laid down on the tiny bit of left side he had left. I lifted his arm and wrapped it around my waist. His fingers tightened and I looked up to see he was staring at me, amusement in his eyes.

"Hi baby."

"I couldn't sleep." I mumbled as he moved back a little, giving me more room. I turned my back to his chest and he wrapped his arm around me, letting me hold his hand.

"I stood outside your door last night and then walked away because a little ego part of me wanted you to come to me first." He pressed his body against mine and I snuggled into him, closing my eyes. "No more lines?"

"One line, only." I said and he nodded his head, understanding. The line of pregnancy was still there but every other line was gone, erased and would never be drawn back.

It was silent but I couldn't sleep even with his arm around me. "Your dad came to see me today." I spoke softly, twisting in his arm and laying on my back. I glanced at his frozen face. "He didn't do anything." I said and he let out a soft breath. "He tried to pay me to leave you."

"And what did you do?"

I chuckled softly. "Where exactly am I, Rafael?" His hand tightened around mine as I turned my head to face him. He was so close, his lips so inches away from mine. "I'm not leaving you." Yet. "His exact words were, he can not be weak for what is about to come."

There was no surprise on his face. "Is something wrong?"

"I'm twenty five years old, baby." He murmured. "The age where I'm supposed to be married to inherit everything. My dad was fine with me getting married two years ago, but something changed in him and he pays every woman I'm with to leave." He stared at me. "He doesn't want me to get married because once I get married, he loses everything."
