I chuckled. "I'm going to be sweating when she's done with me, I just know it."

"Grab the opportunity tightly." He said and the doors opened as I knotted the long straps around my legs.

I stood up, letting out a deep breath and tugging the dress down as Lewis stared at me, his mouth opened and Laura turned to look at me as Alex answered his phone. I walked towards the reception as Laura stood up, running her eyes over me.

"You're trying too hard." She blurted out and I frowned. "Sorry." She cursed under her breath. "But you're honestly trying too hard, Emily. Madam Catherine is going to take one look at you and wipe all that makeup and strip you of your clothes."

"You can't be serious?" I said, placing my hands on the desk as she spoke.

She moved closer, leaning up a little and over the desk as she looked at Alex who was still talking to someone on the phone. "I work for her." Laura said before pulling back and motioning me around the desk. "Come here."

I walked towards her, around the desk in the empty lobby and she ran her hands through my hair, before giving me a tissue. "Wipe the lipstick off. You're applying to be an escort, not a prostitute, babe."

Lewis was watching me as I wiped the lipstick off my lips, feeling shit inside. "I tried to ring my friend and she wouldn't pick up and neither would Rafael."

Laura smiled a little, stepping back in her elegant suit. "Come to me next time. Press and hold 1 on your house phone and it'll connect you to me." She took off her two inch heels. "Here swap with me, I think we're the same size. Go in there looking like that, and Catherine will make you turn around and walk out." I squatted down as she did and we quickly unstrapped the long strings with my heels before I took them off and wiggled my toes.

"Also wipe all the makeup off in the car." She pulled open her drawer and handed me a wet wipe packet as I pushed my feet into her black two inch heels. "There." She took a step back and ran her eyes over me as well. "You look much better now." She smiled and I returned her smile, trusting her words.

"Thank you."

"Well come on-" She slapped my ass with a big smile on her face. "Let's see you work that magic on Catherine."

I giggled but gripped my bag tightly and the wet wipes she had given me before walking towards Alex who smiled at me, talking about a house. I stood on my toes, and kissed his lips, whispering a bye before walking away from him.

Laura had been right. Catherine had taken one look at me and shook her head. You're not a hooker. She had said and I had blinked at her when she had told me to go for a check up which I had done, and the tests had come positive of no diseases or diabetes or any signs of high blood sugar levels.

I was clear of everything, which meant I had to be moved onto the next stage. I had been told to shower and shave every inch of my skin which had then been lasered and I would need to go in twice a week to keep up with it.

"Take off the robe." Catherine said, sitting at her desk and picking up her glasses.

I hadn't seen her for the last three hours. I had showered and gotten my hair done, my nails and toenails painted, and had been given a massage until she called me.

"What?"

I had changed out of the black dress and had been given a long black robe to wear.

"I need to see your body." She held the pen in her hands, looking at me. "I've seen every type of body, Miss Brooks, and yours is no different. Take off the robe, please."
