Brenda and Grace moved cautiously through the dimly lit underground parking lot, the air thick with tension. Their footsteps echoed faintly against the concrete walls, their senses on high alert as they scanned the area for the transport buses.

Brenda held the walkie-talkie close, her voice low but steady as she responded to the chatter from the others. "Frypan, we're in. How you doing?" Thomas' voice rang through the walkie.

There was a crackle of static before Frypan's voice came through. "Yeah, I'm getting there. Tell Minho 'hi' for me."

"Hang in there, buddy. This'll work." Another voice cut in, sharp and urgent. "Brenda, Grace, what's your status?"

"Status is, we're working on it," Brenda replied as her eyes darted around a row of parked vehicles.

"Copy. Just make sure you're ready on your end," Thomas said, his tone leaving no room for error.

Brenda smirked faintly. "Don't worry. You know I'm gonna be there." Grace held back a small laugh at the flirtatious tone of Brenda.

Grace reached out, her hand open for the walkie. Brenda handed it over without a word. Grace raised it to her lips, her voice softer as she asked, "Thomas, how's Newt?"

The line went quiet for a moment, the static humming ominously. Then Thomas's voice came back, tinged with hesitation. "Under the circumstances, he's alright. Don't worry, I've got him"

Grace exhaled slowly, nodding to herself. "Thank you."

Brenda gave her a supportive nod, gesturing toward a far corner of the garage. They moved forward, sticking close to the shadows as Grace handed the walkie back.

The two women crept between rows of vehicles, their breaths shallow as they ducked under the occasional camera sweep. The sound of boots echoed faintly in the distance, WICKED guards patrolling the area.

Brenda pointed ahead, her voice barely audible. "There. The buses are lined up near the exit."

Grace squinted, spotting the familiar bulky silhouettes of the transport vehicles. Relief washed over her for a split second before the sound of approaching voices shattered her focus.

"Guards," Grace whispered, pulling Brenda behind a large pillar.

They pressed their backs to the concrete, listening as two guards walked past, their conversation indistinct but growing fainter. When the coast was clear, Brenda peeked out and motioned for them to move.

They reached the line of buses without further incident, crouching low as they examined each one. Brenda tapped on the window of one, peering inside. "This one's empty and unlocked," she whispered.

Grace nodded and climbed aboard, Brenda close behind. The inside was clean and spacious, the perfect transport for their escape. Brenda worked quickly to hotwire the ignition while Grace checked the compartments for anything useful.

The walkie crackled again, making both women flinch. Brenda snatched it up.

"Brenda, Grace, what's going on?"

Brenda grinned, the engine roaring to life beneath her. "We've got your ride. Just be ready to board."

Grace smirked as she secured the doors. "Let's make this count."

The two women exchanged a determined glance before settling into their roles, ready to play their part in what was about to be a high-stakes rescue.
