This is the conclusion to Link's fight with Demise at the end of Skyward Sword rewritten.
Maybe it just was poor execution on the game's part, and the devs wanted a dramatic uninterrupted shot of Demise announcing his curse all cool n' stuff. But if you take away the fourth wall, the fact that Link just stood there and took it, is unbelievable.
I'm salty about this, so I rewrote the confrontation.

Link held up the shield he'd spent months crafting and upgrading up to his face, ready to sacrifice this most valuable item for one final chance. His sword positioned at his side, waiting. All he needed was one last strike of lightning to bring down his foe.
"Any second now..."
The demonic scaly mass that was Demise towered before him. He paced forward without urgency, his own blade, a perverted imitation of the Master Sword was raised skyward and a torrent of lightning thundered down. It powered up his deformed weapon with arcane energy. Link shuddered as the vibrations raced through his trembling form, making him grip his sword and shield tighter.
Like a clap of thunder was the blade swung down, with the kind of raw power no man could hope to stop. Legs rooted in place, Link took the full force of that strike and despite the burning sensation that crept up his forearm used all his strength to repel it. Having had his attack parried right back, the monster roared in rage and staggered back, arms flailing and torso perfectly exposed.
This was it.
Link hastily dropped the shield from his jittery hand and raised his divine blade, a signal to the clouds above him. The sky called back, sending a torrent of sparks flying down to the tip of the blade and imbuing it with its power. Wasting no time, he aimed his attack and with a desperate cry sent the volley of bolts towards his hated enemy.
With the might of nature turned against him, the demon howled, frozen in place for a few precious seconds. That was all the hero needed and a quick flurry of sword strikes sent the demon crashing to the ground, spraying water everywhere.
From the resulting splash of water lept the young hero, both hands gripping the Master Sword and its blade pointed straight down. Stealing a final jolt of lightning mid air Link landed his attack, driving the sword deep into the demon's stomach.
The dark clouds around them swirled as Demise writhed in agony before going limp. To which the hero withdrew his blade and stumbled back, breathing heavily as he surveyed the scene, praying he wouldn't get up.
His prayers went unanswered as the fiend steadily rose, first easing into to a sitting position before reaching a standing one. A string of frustrated curses left the hero as he ran to pick up his discarded shield. Ignoring the muscle spasms in his left arm, he held it up again and stared ahead, preparing for one more round.
Yet the demon did not step forward. Instead, he raised his sword and plunged it into the ground beside him, letting it dissolve into dark blue particles. Link's face slowly morphed into confusion upon seeing it disappear.
"Extraordinary. You, human, stand as a paragon of your kind. You fight like no man or demon I have ever known," Demise bellowed, "Though this is not the end."
Link wasn't in the mood for flattery and it was clear that the demon could fight no more. He lowered his shield but kept his sword raised, announcing, "It's over."
His words fell upon deaf ears, as dying creature continued to speak, "My hate...never perishes. It is born anew in a cycle with no end!"
Link watched on with growing frustration.
"I will rise again!"
"What are you rambling about?" Link questioned, his confused expression returning to that of sheer anger.
Demise pointed a clawed finger at his enemy, "Those like you-"
"Enough of this," Link interrupted.
"Those who share the blood of the goddess and the spirit of the hero..."
Determined to end the demon's ranting, Link raised his sword skyward. When no lightning came to his aid, much to his shock, he charged forward and swung furiously at the demon. His technique was now sloppy for his body had long reach its limit, but the being before him was now without a sword and weak. Despite the fact that the demon was forced to defend with his bare arms, he did it in such a lax way that only served to further enrage the now exhausted hero.
"They are eternally bound to this curse," Demise continued, taking blow after blow from the hero but refusing to stay down.
"Shut up!" Link cried out wretchedly,
He thrusted his sword forward, just as Demise held up his left arm. The metal sliced almost right through his forearm, but was prevented from piercing his throat by the other hand that had seized the blade. Even though he was at death's door, he had enough strength to hold back the hero. Link used all his might to drive his blade into the demon's flesh.
Demise was forced down onto one knee but still did not give up the struggle. His lips curled into a cruel grin as he made his promise, "An incarnation of my hatred shall ever follow your kind, dooming them to wander a blood-soaked sea of darkness for all time!"
With that he released his grip and allowed the blade to shoot through his body. However, Link stumbled forward and had to catch himself before he fell over, as the monster's body had disintegrated into nothing leaving behind a black foggy mass.
"That's it isn't it?" Link called out, losing control of his hands and subconsciously letting his sword and shield fall onto the watery ground. They were shaking violently, sparks flashing from the tips of his fingers to the top of his shoulder blade. He also felt residual specks of lightning race down his spine, "Right...? Fi?!"
