"Yesterday was just a minor glitch in the system."
Y/n had told herself, leaning her forehead against the door of her lab once she had made it inside and closed the door behind her. She took a deep breath in, and breathed out slowly, opening her eyes and focusing her gaze on the ground as she tried to pull her thoughts together.
"It's back to normal."
She murmured to herself, sighing outwardly as she lifted her head and stood up straight, walking over to her desk.
"I'm fine."

"You do know that talking to yourself isn't a very healthy habit."
Sapphire commented around the room, her little icon appearing on the computers at the desk, and she leered at the girl who sat down.
"You're not a robot Y/n, you can't have glitches."

"Yes, well surprise, I did."
The turquoise-haired girl snarked in return, rolling her eyes at the computer program as she pulled out the assignments that she needed to complete for the week.
"I've cried irrelevant tears, it's back to work now."

A snort from Sapphire, who let her little icon rotate in a circle.
"Those tears didn't look or sound irrelevant."
She remarked dryly, smile growing as wide as the Cheshire cat as she attempted to look the girl in the eye. Her icon bounced from screen to screen as Y/n avoided direct eye contact.

"I can't let something as foolish as a boy throw off my focus."
Y/n complained, giving an exasperated splutter as she pushed herself away from her desk.
"Sapphire, it's better this way."

Que an eye roll from the sassy security program, and Sapphire let out an exasperated sigh.
"He's doing this for your safety, so, why are you so upset? I thought you prioritised safety?"
She questioned, earning a glare from the teenage girl.

"I do!"

"Then why are you upset?"
Sapphire questioned once more, her voice becoming more demanding as she looked towards the girl.
"I thought you didn't need anyone?"

"It's just-"
Y/n let her words falter, opening and closing her mouth with soundless noises escaping her as she tried to find the right words to reply with.
"I don't need anyone! Okay?"
With a groan, she slammed her hands onto the table, leaning her head down and taking a deep breath as she sat back down in her seat, resting her forehead on her desk.

Her words faltered, as they appeared in her mind, mouth going dry.

"I think you'll find that you do know."
Rem sounded from behind her, and Y/n didn't turn her body around, hearing the little bot make his way into the room. His voice wasn't as chirpy as it usually was, it was lower, a little more bland.
"Just say it Y/n."

"Don't use that voice with me, Virus."
Y/n murmured, lifting her head up as she aimed a glare to the little robot, who met her eyes with darker blue ones.
"Why are you...on investigation mode?"

"Because I have something I want to find out."
Virus responded simply, hovering closer to the girl.
"What do you feel towards Hiro, and why aren't you pushing forward to him."
