Chapter Eleven: Harry & Meghan Part I

Of course, he was the only one to marry for love compared to them; she completely disagreed sure that he had married for lust more than anything else especially not love. 

It was unnerving to see how close Eugenie and Jack were with Harry and Meghan, it was clear that friendship wasn't over since the two couples were still close with one another even now.

Simon had held her hand as Harry discussed their mother's interview, the only that she had been tricked into giving by Martin Bashir who had forged bank statements and other dishonesty to hain the interview with Diana. 

There had been an inquiry into how the interview had been obtained with the BBC apologising for the actions of Bashir who had been found guilty of using "deceitful methods" and breaching BBC editorial conduct to obtain the interview. 

Lord Spencer claimed that he would not have introduced Bashir to his sister without the falsified documents and charged that Bashir had made false and defamatory claims about senior members of the royal family. 

Diana's children issued their own statements following the conclusion of the inquiry, with William and Adeline condemning the actions of BBC leaders and employees, stating that the lies told to their mother had contributed to her sense of "fear, paranoia and isolation". 

They had argued that the interview had created a "false narrative", and due to its questionable legitimacy it should never be aired again. 

Harry also blamed the media and the paparazzi, adding that the "ripple effect of a culture of exploitation and unethical practices" was the reason that Diana lost her life. 

Diana's brother made a connection between the interview and the succeeding chain of events that led to his sister's death two years later "without any form of real protection". 

In the second episode Doria Ragland sat down for her first public interview since her daughter Meghan and Harry started their relationship. 

Something that Thomas Markle had been condemned for by Harry and Meghan, the man still cast out with his health declining with no sign of Meghan reaching out. 

Doria discussed her daughter's childhood, accompanied by images that show the two together, in contrast to how Meghan had showcased her own childhood when she had run her blog; Thomas Markle completely erased.

Harry, referring to headlines such as "(Almost) Straight Outta Compton", claimed that at the start of their relationship members of the royal family were wondering why Meghan should be treated differently from other women who married into the family and were harassed by the press and their advice was not to say anything, though he points out the difference between their experience and hers to be "the race element." 

It was ignored that such articles were written by Americans, instead the blame was laid straight at the feet of the British papers and the fact that Harry had pushed his own wants ahead with threats of racism to get what he wanted. 

Meghan reflected on an incident from her childhood when a stranger shouted the N-word at her mother; there are also discussions on Brexit and its impact on the British society. 

The couple also discussed their experience when their respective parents went through divorce.

Meghan detailed her surprise at the formality within the royal family, adding that it was not only on the outside but "carried through on the inside." She described herself as a hugger, which she said could be "really jarring for a lot of Brits." 

The couple also shares details about the night they became engaged, and Harry's proposal at Kensington Palace. 

"Are they serious?" Simon scoffed leaning back on the couch, unable to believe the lies that they were sprouting; the story of their engagement completely changed from the interview that they had given.
