A New Scent (Edward Cullen x reader)

I can't believe I have to be at school the day after I found out my twin sister, Bella Swan, died. Like what kind of sick joke is this? Shouldn't high school kids get excused absences when something this grave happens? Ugh I'm just going to go to my locker, get my books and go to my counselors office. I can't do this today. I know she'll pull through and let me go home.

As I ran passed, I felt a pair of eye's watching me but i didn't bother to look and see who it was. I don't have time for socializing today.

I went straight to the counselors  office and she let me go home after hearing how I'm doing after the family tragedy.

Edwards pov

So the scent I smelled earlier has brown curly hair. I wanted to try and learn more about her but she was clearly in a rush. I'll have to ask Jasper and Alice about her later and see if they know anything. Jasper would be able to tell her feelings which might explain why she was in a rush and Alice would be able to see her future which might hint at the answer as well.

"Hey Edward are you coming to english?" I turned around to see Alice was talking to me.

"Yes, I decided I am not ditching today."

Alice smiles at that and we walk together in silence on the way to our first class of the day. Throughout the class, i dont pay attention to the teacher because why should I? I already know everything they're teaching and I've got better things to think about... like the new mystery girl.

She must be new right? I haven't seen her around before and I'd like to think I'd know everyone around here by now. No. I can't think about another human and let them get attached. Look what happened with Bella and now she's gone. I can't let another human grow attached.

After English is over, I look around for her but I don't find her.

"She went home Edward," Alice said. Edward looks taken aback when he hears Alice say this but that was probably due to the fact that he was stuck in his head thinking about this new scent.
"Can you see where her home is," Edward asked genuinely curious.

"Yeah I can."

Edward reads her mind and is in shock by what he just saw in Alice's head.
