A Cassarian Story
Varian always knew that he cared for Cassandra. But he didn't realize how much until she was gone.
Six long years after Cassandra leaves Corona, she finally returns. Varian is overjoyed, but she comes bearing terrible news. A stran...
Cassandra glares at him, but finally caves. "Alright, yes! They're... delicious."
"Thought so," Varian says with a wink. He then proceeds to take a bite of the krumkake. "Mmm!"
Cassandra bites into her krumkake. The cookie has a pleasant crunch, and the sweetness of the cream dances along her tastebuds. Kristoff was right... This is the best krumkake she's ever had!
"It's... not bad," she says, severely understating her feelings about this dessert. She then chuckles when she sees a dab of cream in the corner of Varian's mouth. "I think you missed some."
"What? Where?" He asks, wiping his hand along every spot around his mouth except for where the cream actually is.
"Here, let me get it..." Cassandra grabs a napkin, and stands up across the table to gently rub the cream off his face. As she does so, he delicately tucks a stray strand of her hair behind her ear. This action catches her off guard, and she sits back down in her chair, positive that her cheeks are glowing pink. "There, I got it," she says, turning away and staring at the floor.

"Maybe I was saving it for later," Varian says, unable to stop smiling.
He thinks he's being so smooth, Cassandra thinks. She finds this mildly annoying, but also incredibly endearing. A strange combination that confuses her.
Once they have finished their krumkaker, Varian leads Cass out of the bakery and to a horse-drawn carriage down the street. "You up for a carriage ride?" He asks her.
Cass smirks playfully. "What if I say no?"
"Then you'd be missing out on the surprise I have planned," he replies.
"The krumkaker and carriage ride aren't already enough of surprises?"
"Just trust me. Hop in!" He extends his hand, and assists her into the carriage, bowing slightly as he does so.
