We were flying back to the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters. Steve was attempting to help Dad with the wound he sustained on the battlefield. Tony was flying us back while Bruce was listening to opera music. It always seemed to calm him down but I have to say I'm not a fan. I sat on a chair by my dad, hoping that his injury wasn't too bad and that Dr. Cho could easily fix him up. Natasha went and sat in front of Bruce as he took off his headphones.
"Hey, the lullaby worked better than ever," she said. I couldn't help but eavesdrop. They just looked like they were made for each other.
Bruce shook his head and replied, "Just wasn't expecting a code green." I know that he doesn't like turning into the Hulk. It's hard for him to lose control like that. He doesn't know if he'll hurt innocent people and that scares him.
"If you hadn't been there, there would have been double the casualties," Nat said. She was trying to soothe him. Her connection with him was unlike anyone else's. I hope that I could care for someone someday as they cared for each other. "My best friend would've been a treasured memory." She was right though. If the Hulk hadn't come out then my dad could've died.
"You know sometimes exactly what I want to hear, isn't exactly what I want to hear," Bruce replied. He seemed a little annoyed. They were still gazing into each other's eyes. It was adorable. I couldn't help but smile to myself a little.
"How long before you trust me?" she said back.
He shook his head and replied, "It's not you I don't trust." Natasha smirked a little bit.
"Thor report on the Hulk," she said.
"The gates of hell are filled with the screams of his victims," Thor replied with a smile on his face. I winced at his answer. That was not the right thing to say in this situation. I turned to look at Bruce, as did everyone else. Bruce sighs and Nat sent Thor a death glare. He quickly changed his answer. "But not the screams of the dead, of course. No, no, wounded screams. Mainly whimpering, a great deal of complaining, and tales of sprained deltoids and gout." He seriously wasn't helping. This just made things worse. He wasn't very good with these types of things.
"Hey Banner, Dr. Cho is on her way in from Seoul," Tony said from the pilot seat. Thank god he came in and saved this very awkward situation. "Is it okay if she sets up in your lab?"
Bruce turned to him and said, "Uh, yeah, she knows her way around." I was relieved when I heard that Dr. Cho was already going to be there when we arrived.
"Thanks," Tony said to Bruce. He then spoke into the comms and said, "Tell her to prep everything. Barton's gonna need the full treatment."
"Very good, sir," Jarvis replied.
"Jarvis take the wheel."
"Yes sir," the AI replied. Tony started turning his chair to face us. "Approach vector is locked."
"Feels good, yeah?" Tony said to Thor. "I mean you've been after this thing since S.H.I.E.L.D. collapsed. Not that I haven't enjoyed our little raiding parties, but..."
"No, but this..." Thor said. "This brings it to a close."
"As soon as we find out what else this has been used for," Steve said. "I don't just mean weapons. Since when is Strucker capable of human enhancement?" I thought about his words for a moment. None of this made any sense. I was just as confused as everyone else.
"Banner and I will give it the once over before it goes back to Asgard," Tony said. He looked at Thor and asked, "Is that cool with you?" Thor nodded in response. "Just a few days till the farewell party." He paused for a moment. "You're staying right?" He asked Thor.
