~The Barton And The Maximoff~ Pietro Maximoff x Reader

When we walk into the party there are people everywhere I look. Nat goes to sit down to talk to Rhodey while I go over to stand with a very awkward-looking Bruce. I see him searching the room and I know that he's looking for Nat. He finally spots her as I approach him.

"You should make a move," I said. He turned to me startled. He wasn't expecting me.

"Y/n!" Bruce beams. "You look beautiful as always." I just shake my head at him knowing that he's changing the subject.

"Why thank you, Bruce," I said. "You don't look too bad yourself. But you're changing the subject." I raise my eyebrows at him and he knows he's been caught.

"There's no way that she would go for me," he said. "I mean look at her and then look at me." I frown at him and pick up a drink from a server passing by.

"Bruce, I think I know my best friend very well," I said. "Trust me on this. Just go talk to her." He sighed and nodded.

"Ok, I will. But don't tell anyone else." I smirk to myself as he walks away knowing that I've won. I walk over to Sam and Steve who were playing pool.

"Ooh! Whoo!" Sam said as he made a shot. I just giggled to myself at his childish nature. "Come back, come back, come back."

"Well, hello boys," I said to the pair. They both turned to look at me. Sam was smiling while Steve gave me the eyebrows of disappointment. "Steve, why are you staring at me like that?"

"Why do you have a drink in your hand?" He questions me. "You're only sixteen." I just smile at him and take another sip.

"Relax Steve," I said. "It's just champagne. Loosen up a little." Sam chuckled at my comment and high-fived me. I chat with them for a little bit then walk over to a group of people including Maria. She's the only reason I walked over here. The group consists of Tony, Rhodey, and Thor.

When I walk up I hear Rhodey say, "But you know, the suit can take the weight, right?" He's invested in whatever story he is telling. "So I take the tank, fly it right up to the general's palace, and drop it at his feet. I'm, like, 'Boom. You looking for this?'" We all just stared at him as none of us said a word. "'Boom. Are you looking for..' Why do I even talk to you guys? Everywhere else, that story kills."

"That's the whole story?" Thor asks, clearly confused.

"Yeah, it's a War Machine story," Rhodey says. I'm laughing to myself on the inside but I don't show it.

"Oh, it's very good, then," Thors says. He trying to make Rhodey feel better but we can all clearly see that he's lying. He laughs. "It's impressive."

"Quality save," Rhodey says. "So, no Pepper? She's not coming?" Everyone's attention turns to Tony now.

"No," Tony says quietly.

"What about Jane?" Maria asks Thor. Everyone looks at him now.

"Yeah, where are the ladies, gentlemen?" I ask while taking a sip of my drink.

"Oh, Ms. Potts has a company to run," Tony says. I know something is going on with him, but I don't want to push on the subject.

"Yes, I'm not even sure what country Jane's in," Thor says. I can see where this is going and it's not going to be good. Maria and I give each other a knowing look as we prepare for the coming conflict. "Her work on the Convergence has made her the world's foremost astronomer."

"And the company that Pepper runs is the largest tech conglomerate on Earth," Tony says trying to rival Thor. "It's pretty exciting."

Thor then decides to keep up this escapade and says, "There's even talk of Jane getting a, um Nobel Prize."
