SCENARIOS: When it rains.

"away. i don't think that's a problem ?"
you sounded more harsh than you wanted, but it was necessary. he needed to learn to stop pushing people away.
"but ... where ? are you sure you want to travel alone ?"

"do you think i'm weak ?"

"no- it's just ..."

"goodbye xiao."

"please, just ... stay."
his voice was quiet, barely above a whisper, but you still heard him loud and clear. if you didn't know him any better, the experience would feel unreal, but you knew the real xiao. he was softer than he'd like to admit.

"and what do i get for staying ?"

"anything you want. please stay."

"i'd like a hug."
xiao looked at you, eyes wide, as if you were crazy. you probably were.
"what ? you said anything didn't you ?"
xiao stayed silent, but moved towards you. this was definitely a new experience. you'd known xiao for years, pretty much since zhongli had saved him, but not once had he allowed you to touch him. he hated physical contact.

he wrapped his arms around you in a tight, protective manner, and this was all the proof you needed that xiao would never actually leave you alone for good. you felt safe and wanted in his arms and neither of you pulled away for what felt like centuries.
you both stood there silently comforting each other with just a simple hug.

you both had a wonderful night, dancing and joking while getting to know each other.
diluc's father had invited your family over to the dawn winery for one of their signature parties, and they were great hosts. though you weren't exactly sure what this party was for.

you had never personally met mr. ragnvindr, but you had heard tales that both he and his sons were some of the most polite people in teyvat. though not many people trusted the blue haired son for some reason.
the redhead, diluc, had walked over to you not long after you arrived. you had just sat down with your family after talking with some other familiar faces that also attended the party when he confidently strode up to your table and introduced himself.

"hello, my father speaks about you often, mr and mrs l/n ..."
he briefly paused when he looked over at you, but he never lost the kind smile on his face.
"you must be close. i'm happy you get along."

your parents smiled at him in response, then also looked over at you upon realising why diluc had paused.
"ah, this is my wonderful child, y/n"
your mother began, as if trying to embarrass you in front of this gorgeous man.
"they're stunning, aren't they ?"

the redhead nearly choked upon hearing this, but slowly nodded his head.
"would you like to dance, y/n ?"
he asked boldly, shocking both you and your parents who had quietly started to cheer.

"sure ..."
you hesitantly got up, but not for any particular reason other than being nervous around such an attractive man. you felt honoured that he chose you over everyone else in the room.

just like that, you had danced the night away with diluc and even met his blue haired brother, who you learned was called kaeya. you were all around the same age, so you got on well.

but the party was over now, and most families had already left. your parents were currently still talking to crepus, but seemed tired and ready to leave soon. you were ready to go too. spending time getting to know diluc was fun, but it was extremely late and you felt just about ready to pass out, having also had a few glasses of wine.
of course you had to do a taste test if it was offered to you for free by a hot redheaded man. dawn winery was known for their excellent wine, so you might as well give it a try.

you heard your parents call out to you, and you knew it was time to go. diluc looked at you and linked your arms, offering you his jacket as it was now apparently raining outside.

he looked at you and smiled, with the rain seemingly being a paid actor for this perfect moment. the only light you had was from the small lanterns scattered around the winery's exterior, and it enhanced the comforting ambience. this was definitely a place worth visiting, and you were glad you decided to not skip this party.

"will you attend the next party hosted here ?"
diluc asked while helping you get into the carriage with your parents.
"yes actually, i think i will."

"great. i'll see you then."
you smiled down at him beyond glad that your parents forced you to visit the winery.
"i'll see you soon then, diluc ?"

"see you soon, y/n, i look forward to it"
and with that your carriage door shut, leaving you to think back about the night you just had.
diluc never moved from where he stood either. at least not until your carriage was no longer visible.

that was certainly a night to remember.
