I'll never wear the same uniform again,
I'll never roam those halls as I used to...
I'll never look out those windows the same,
And I sure as hell won't be treated the same way-
Treated like the child I am deep down,
I'm hoping I would, at least until I'm 18...
I'll never fake pain to bunk class again,
More importantly - get away with it...
I'll never sit in those seats as I used to,
And I sure as hell won't count down to the second -
To when that bell would ring and the class would end,
Or maybe I would...?
I'll never eat from the same cartoon lunchbox,
In our favorite spots like we used to...
I'll never waste time on my way to the loo,
And I sure as hell won't be pressured-
To submit my assignments when they're due,
Who knows maybe I still would...?
I'll never pass chits during class again,
I'll never look across the room at my friend,
And burst out laughing and giggling...
Making everyone else question our sanity,
And I sure as hell won't be the same,
The person that I could openly be...
I'll never get scolded with the same care,
I'll never stand outside class,
Wondering what I did to be sent there,
Or rather what I didn't do...
And I sure as hell won't take lead on those projects,
Which the rest of the group was too lazy to do...
I'll never be the same again,
I'll never have the same bittersweet memories again,
I'll never be a school going student again,
And not to mention, meet the same friends everyday.
I'm not prepared to leave this ecological niche,
And I'm not ready to grow up yet,
But then I remember a quote from a beloved movie,
"Kahi pe pohchne ke liye kahi se nikalna padta hai."
"To get someplace, you have to leave someplace."
So goodbye, dear school... My life would be bland without you.
