Annabelle

This morning I met with Jack. I didn't expect him to be here waiting for me. I saw he was nervous and he apologized to me. At first, I was nervous too, but somehow I knew he didn't mean any harm and I immediately calmed down. I wanted to ask him more about werewolves, but he said it was better if Archer talked to me about it.

Flashback

"I'm sorry, but Archer will answer every question you have. He was supposed to talk to you about werewolves, and I apologize it turned out this way." He said lowering his gaze, but I didn't mind. To be honest, I'm glad Olivia told me about it.

"It's okay, I don't mind," I said trying to reassure him and he nodded his head. He was about to leave when I stopped him. "Is my friend your mate?" I asked him and he immediately tensed up. He widened his eyes in surprise and I smiled knowing the answer already.

Flashback over

I'm glad that Lisa is Jack's mate for two reasons: I don't have to go through this alone and she needs someone who truly cares about her. According to my research, the love and the bond between mates it's something really special and unique. I have already seen in Jack's eyes he already likes her and I want that for my best friend. When he discovered that I knew Lisa was his mate, he initially panicked and tried to reassure me that he wants her, but he is not sure how to approach her since he saw she was with someone else. At first, I was confused, but then I remembered Oliver and I began to laugh. I explained to him that my friend was single and the man she was with was her friend and very much gay. She just tried to introduce Oliver's friend to me. I immediately saw him relax and then he asked me some questions about Lisa. I told him I didn't mind giving him a hand, but he has to be serious about her and respect her decisions. I could see in his eyes how grateful he was so I just smiled. After a few tips and giving him Lisa's number, he left.

I decided to close the cafè today and wait for Archer. I don't know at what time he will show up so I sit on the bench outside with a cup of coffee in my hands and wait for him. I don't know what to expect and I don't know how Archer feels about me finding out him being a werewolf. I can't wait to talk to him, but part of me is afraid that he will not accept me. I read something about rejection and the thought scares me a little. To be honest, there is nothing between Archer and me that put me at ease, other than the fact that we are mates. I sighed and looked at my watch to see the time when I heard a rustling coming from the woods. At first, I stood still not knowing what to do, but my curiosity was greater and I decided to go and see. As I got closer, I saw a wolf looking at me like a lion looking at its prey before hunting. It was bigger than a normal wolf, I have never seen one, but since I discovered their existence, I always imagined they being bigger than a wolf.

'Maybe it's Archer showing me his wolf.' I thought to myself.

I'm scared, I have goosebumps and every single muscle in my body is screaming to run, but I don't want to show my emotions on my face. I thought it was Archer who wanted to scare me or wanted to see my reaction, so I can't show him that I'm afraid. The wolf was staring at me, studying me, which made me think that my thoughts weren't wrong, so I began to approach him, even though those eyes weren't familiar at all.

"Archer?" I asked in a trembling voice.

I don't know what changed my mind, the way he tilted his head in confusion, his eyes full of fury, or the lowly growl I heard, but I turned immediately and ran toward the cafè. For some reason, I knew he wasn't my Archer. He pounced on me and I fell to the ground. I tried to protect myself by raising my hand, but I screamed in pain because his sharp claws were scratching my upper arm. The blood was flowing down and I instantly regretted coming here. With my other hand, I tried to find anything I could use to hit him and found a rock, which I used to hit him in the head. In doing so, he winced in pain and shook his head. I took advantage of those few seconds to get up and run, but luck wasn't on my side, the brown wolf with his bloodshot eyes, growled loudly making me tremble in fear and lose my balance. As I fell with tears rolling down my cheeks, I prayed hoping he would let me go. He prepared to launch himself at me again and I let out a scream as he bit my left leg.
I closed my eyes terrified when I heard a powerful growl, but it wasn't the brown wolf, but another one. I waited for another blow, but it didn't come, instead, I heard a loud snap that echoed through the forest. I opened my eyes to see what was happening, and a dark grey wolf was walking away from the dead wolf, the one that had wounded me. It was the biggest wolf I had ever seen, but I wasn't as frightened as the other one. Even if I was standing on the ground wincing in pain, I felt safe when he approached me. The blood was dripping down and I started to feel dizzy. The wolf shifted into his human form and I couldn't see clearly who was my saviour, but I knew it was him, I was sure of it. I felt so safe that I gave up, I closed my eyes and surrendered to the darkness with a smile on my face.

It was him, my Archer.
