CHAPTER 30
BE THERE
SKYE POV
It was friday night and I got a call from none other than Lawrence.
Don't ask me how he got my number and why he called. All he told me was to meet him outside my house. Obviously he wasn't going to try anything because George is here and Jeremy and Zac were living with me for a few days until we find James, Lawrence and Ray.
That's two down. Ray and Lawrence were going to show up tonight and talk. About what? I have no clue.
Its been a week since I got back from Lawrence's house and I've been really down since. Nothing seems to cheer me up. I cried myself to sleep a few times because of James and usually, Jeremy and Zac would have to get in bed with me to calm me down.
James really ruined my life. I used to save money for a ticket to Paris just to look for him. I always missed him. He is my biological father. I always loved him. That's until I found out that he was killing people in Paris. Bitch.
I never called George 'dad' because there was only one person in my life who had the right to that title. James. All this time, George was the real father to me. The one who loved me. The one who stood by me and mom. Not James.
As the days went by with George, mom and my best friends by my side, the crying stopped, but I still felt dead.
It was 8:00 sharp. I walked outside with Zac and Jeremy and stood on the lawn.
I shoved my hands in the pockets of my hoodie and stared at my feet, not saying a word. I've been like this the entire week. I only talked when I had to answer somebody's question.
"Skye, are you sure you want to see him?" Jeremy asked me with concern in his voice.
I nodded and he gave me a half smile.
With Jeremy and Zac living with me for the past couple of days, I have realised that I have been growing closer to them. Jeremy in a more, how should I put this, more than friends kind of way. He and Zac are always there for me, but there is something about Jeremy that has me attracted to him.
It's so weird.
"Is he here yet?" George asked as he scurried outside. As if on cue, two motor bikes pulled up outside the house. Lawrence was the first to take off his helmet and walk up to us. Ray took his helmet off second, but stayed on his bike and looked at me with concern in his eyes.
I probably looked awful.
I wore one of Zac's jumpers and a pair of night shorts with stars on them. I had my hair up in a pony tail and wore uggs.
Yup, awful.
"Before you shoot me," Lawrence said to George as he walked up to us. "I wanted to say something."
"I'm not going to shoot you," George replied rolling his eyes. He stepped forward so that Jeremy, Zac and I were shielded behind him. "I'm not James."
Lawrence clenched his jaw before he looked behind him and motioned for Ray to come over. George also looked and scoffed.
"Him, I might shoot," George mumbled. I bit back a smile but was too late. George noticed and winked at me. "No one messes with my baby girl."
I smiled and looked at Ray who avoided George's gaze.
