Y/n has been questioning her sexuality for a while. She thinks she has a crush on moon. Every time she sees her its like the whole world slows down and it goes quiet. Shes so beautiful and kind but y/n has a boyfriend hawk who loves her. She doesn't want to hurt him and shes not even sure if she does have feelings for her. So she stayed with hawk but now it was getting harder to stay with him knowing hes falling more and more in love with her every day.
Today she was at school and as she was at her locker she saw moon and smiled. Everything about her was gorgeous but her smile faded once she saw moon kiss some girl called piper. She felt her heart break and she felt jealousy in her stomach.
" hey princess" hawk hugged from her from behind kissing her shoulder.
Y/n wasnt responding. She was just watching moon and piper as a tear came to eye.
" hey what's wrong" hawk noticed a tear roll down her cheek.
" she doesn't love me" she mumbled but hawk heard her. He felt his heart crush. The girl he loves doesnt feel the same way.
" who?" He asked as his voice broke.
" moon" she said. She had to be honest now. She didnt want to hurt hawk but this isn't fair on him and now she knows she loves moon because it feels like shes been cheated on which she hasn't.
" y-you l-like moon? What about me?" He cried.
" I do love you just not like that. I really wanted to love you. I tried but I can't deny it anymore. I'm gay and I like moon but clearly she doesn't like me. I'm so sorry" a tear fell down her cheek as hawk started to cry more hysterically.
" how long" he asked softly.
" for a while I just wasn't sure. I didn't mean to hurt you" she said wiping a tear off of elis face.
Y/n can see the pain and heartbreak in hawks eyes. Its always been obvious how much eli loves y/n.
" it's okay. Its not your fault. You don't choose who you fall for" he said faking a smile but tears were still streaming down his face.
" I want you to know I do love you. Your my best friend and I hope we still can be" she said.
Eli nodded and hugged her tightly trying to stop crying. He inhaled her shampoo to calm him down and kissed her head.
" yeah I'll always be your best friend. You cant get rid of me that easily. I'll always be here for you and if it's any consolation I think moon is missing out" he smiled but it was a pained smile.
" thank you and thank you for being cool about this. I know how much you loved me and I bet your devastated" she said wiping her tears away.
" yeah but like I said it's not your fault. You cant control this. Its just the way you feel besides I'm just happy I still get to be in your life as your best friend" he smiled.
" you'll always be in my life" she said.
" always. But if you don't mind and if your okay with it please can I give you one last kiss" eli asked in a gentle tone.
Y/n nodded and kissed hawk passionately as hawk cupped her cheeks with his hands.
" thank you" he said as the bell went and he walked away to class trying to stop crying but hes never felt heartbroken like this before. It felt like his heart has been pulled out of his chest. He felt broken but at least he still had y/n as a friend even if its not in the way he wanted.
