Reader's POV:
Waking up was hard and painful, like seriously this was torture.
But! I woke up thinking about that conversation Jake and I had, which left me feeling flustered and happy inside.
I don't know what was up with me, but it was a nice feeling.
Valentine's dance was two days away, and I couldn't give less of a shit about it. Hm, maybe that was a lie. Like, I don't know why I kept thinking about it.. not like I was interested or anything.
But aside from that, Jake..
'Maybe I'll be able to say I love you soon.'
What did that mean?!
Does it mean that he's interested in me?! Does it mean he loves me..? Does it mea-
Ok stop thinking about it.
Not like I should care, we're in high school. I don't have time for these petty school year relationships.
I should probably get out of bed now.
I took a step out of my bed and tiredly sauntered over to my closet. I grabbed the usual outfit, which consisted of whatever that fuck I usually wore. I then looked at the time, and sighed. Jesus fuck why does school have to be so early?! I grabbed my readily packed backpack and walked out to the kitchen. Grabbing an oat bar out of the cupboard I yelled a quick goodbye to my parents, assuming that they were still here.
I then walks out of the door and towards the bus stop.
Time skip:
I had been sitting on the bus for a while, and then I saw Jakes black head of hair. He immediately looked at me and I smirked, he blushed a light shade of pink. As he walked down the isle towards my seat, I crossed my legs and placed my arm across the head rest.
"Greetings, Casanova." I grinned. Jake just huffed and sat down next to me. He pouted and crossed his arms.
"Not like I meant to meet a beautiful young woman like you here," I chuckled slightly.
"You're just trying to fluster me now,"
"Maybe I am,"
"Well I've got one thing to tell you, it''s working." I leaned in towards his ear to whisper that, I then saw Jake put his hands on his face.
"Stop i-"
"As if you want me to stop, you love this."
"Stop reading my mind!"
"So I'm right?"
"Oh, dancing capsicums..." Jake then shrunk down in his seat, a blush working its way onto his face.
"Oh man," I laughed, Jake then smirked. Oh god, we're flirting aren't we? This shit suddenly got awkward. Like we were looking at each other, but we weren't saying anything and it was getting weird. I swear my grin was getting wider by the second, and that Jake's smile was actually appearing on his face. Not that his face appeared anywhere else, otherwise.. Well, ya know, that'd be weird as fuck.
"Ahem, heh." I laughed, trying to break the awkwardness that had settled over us like a coat of paint.
"Haha, sorry.." Jake muttered, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.
"It's ok man," I whispered, looking out the window.
Time skip:
Jesus, school was fucking uneventful. The dance was all people were talking about, and Jake was in barely any of my classes today. I caught up with him at lunch however, and that got a little weird, kinda..
