The next day was a blur. I could barely remember anything, and I was assuming that Jake couldn't either. Awkwardness was a fucking train between us, and neither of us could start up a conversation. We just stood looking at each other, faint blushes upon our cheeks.
I'm guessing some people got the idea of what was going on cause they kept whispering to Jake and myself things like, 'get in there!' Or other 'encouraging' things.
People were still talking about how fun the dance was, and Jake wouldn't look at me anymore. He was probably blushing like an idiot, and those two kisses wouldn't have helped.
"Jake?" I decided to question, of course I got no response. "Was it really that bad?" Jakes head whipped around almost instantly.
"Bad? What are you talking about, that was the greatest kiss I'd ever had!" He yelled, I then took a step back.
"G-greatest?" I stuttered.
"That's what I said didn't I? Do you know what that means?"
"Yes, Jake. I do know what greatest means,"
"Thank god, I didn't want to resort to drawing pictures."
"I've got some paper in my bag of you need some,"
"Got a pen too?"
"I can manage that, hopefully."
"Now that's just grand! I shall get to work then," Jake grinned, awaiting what was probably the paper and the pen. I realised that he was serious and hurriedly shrugged off my backpack, grabbing both the pens and paper in one hand.
I then handed them to him.
Jake looked as if he was going to write something down, but then stopped.
"Didn't I say 'lucky I didn't have to resort to drawing pictures'? And yet I'm drawing them anyway,"
"At least I'll be able to see your lovely drawings afterwards,"
"They're not that goo-"
"I'm sure they're amazing, now let's get this show on the road!"
"O-ok.." He muttered, slowly drawing on the paper.
Time skip:
He drew a diagram of things on a scale from great to shit.
Death was at the bottom of the scale and I was at the top, which made me sigh slightly.
"You sure are a lady killer," I'd grin at him as if I was planning to sweep him off his feet and run off to the ocean.
"I know," he'd grin back at me, almost signalling that he would be down with that plan of action. We kept staring at each other, tranquil thoughts bubbling inside our brains.
It seemed as if everything was fucking perfect.
Time skip:
At the end of the school day, Jake had the day off from work. We hung out, chatting about the simpler things in life. I was going to ask what we were right now, as in relationship wise. But I kept my mouth shut, because I might as well enjoy life as it were right now.
Time skip:
When the sun had began to set, I said farewell to Jake and set off towards my home. Halfway through I could hear something drop to the floor behind me, and I turned around. Nothing was there, and I just shrugged.
Ook then.
Perhaps it was some gravel.
Darn gravel, making me think as if I dropped something.
