IF ONLY YOU KNEW

   Grug started to feel a pain in his chest that he couldn't get rid of. But he was in too deep. He couldn't just tell Shrek and Gru because he knew he would lose both. But it just wasn't fair to drop only one. Then again, what he'd been doing wasn't fair, either.
    He never intended it to turn out this way. After Ugga died, he felt so distant from everyone and everything. Then Grug met Gru. Gru was despicable, to say the least, but he had a charm Grug couldn't deny. He found himself falling for him, and he couldn't stop.
   Eventually, they started dating, and all was going smoothly. They were happy, a feeling neither had felt in a long time.
   Then, one Saturday afternoon, on Gru and Grug's one year anniversary, Grug bumped into Shrek while running errands. His chest tightened the second he saw him.
   Grug tried to shake off his feelings for Shrek, but he couldn't get him off his mind. Every thought he had was Shrek. Not only did he always think of Shrek, but he started to feel gross when thinking of Gru. He couldn't explain how, but he still loved him even if he didn't.
   Grug stayed loyal to Gru until he couldn't take it anymore.
   "Hey Shrek, right?" Grug said even though he knew he shouldn't have.
   "Yeah. And your Grug, right?" Shrek pointed.
   "Yep. Uh, Shrek, I know we've barely talked, but do you maybe wanna get lunch on Saturday?" Grug said.
   "Ha! I like how forward you are. I don't have anything going on, so sure," Shrek replied.
   Grug and Shrek really hit it off after their date. They decided to go on a second date, and a third, and a fourth.
   After Grug and Shreks' fifth date, Grug knew he had to end it with Gru.
   As soon as he got home, he hurried to their bedroom.
   "Hey, we need to talk," Grug started.
   "Oh, OK. Um, what's up," Gru said anxiously.
   Grug stared into Gru's eyes, and he knew he couldn't break up with him. He couldn't get the words out of his mouth.
   "You know what, I forgot! Caveman brain, am I right?" Grug joked.
   "Oh, alright! I hope you remember," Gru replied.

But now, years later, Grug knew he had to admit the lies. This time, he'd really come clean. Not another lie would come out of his mouth.
