BELLE POV

The vibe in the car is horrifying. His posture is straight and shoulders forward. The amount of hatred he feels is concerning, his aurora is deep.

Nowhere else to go besides jumping out of the car, my eyes are trains focused on the road in front of us. I am scared to stop driving for what he might do.

A cigerette hangs tight in his mouth, his lips holding it tight while his fingers dig into his legs. I feel a powerful amount of dred coming from him, he is angry.

We are almost to the hotel, twenty more minutes of this silence. I don't know if I should just keep driving until he calms down some more or if we should just rip the baindaid off.

"I am in a glass cage." Carter moves his lips, "I feel like I am in a glass cage on the top floor of a building."

He hums to himself, "I should have fucking known."

"That dream meant something, it was physical moments of the misscarige." He talks to himself, "pointless."

Rolling down the windows of the car, the smoke lingers out. He takes another drag and pops it out of his fingers, Carter takes another out of the pack I bought him.

"Hell, it was probably a sign."

Carter finally sits back in the seat and closes his eyes as he takes a drag, "tell me again."

"I don't know if that is a good idea," he is dark.

He demands it, "Tell me what happened, Belle."

"I saw something following Sarah through face time a few weeks ago when we talked in the car." He nods, "it was an orb, not a shadow."

"It wasn't very big, smaller than what it was two days ago," I recall seeing it affect her through the screen.

I skip over the symptoms she was having before the misscarage, "I could tell something bad was happening because her aurora got funny. Black and dark shades of purple were coming from her stomach area."

"I asked if I could speak with her because I had a feeling she knew what was going on. When I confronted her about it, she didn't hide it from me."

I stop at a stop light and wait for the light to change to green. Carter still has his eyes closed, but he is breathing heavy like he is waiting for the impact of my words.

"She was in a lot of pain, I could see it on her face. Her body went rigid and she fell to the floor," he grimaces.

The blood was soaking through her pants, "the black color vanished as the blood was leaking out of her."

After a few minutes of silence, "her auroa had changed back to normal. However, she was no longer pregnant."

He's mad, "fucking hell."

"How long did she know?" He asks for the tenth time, "was she pregnant this whole time?"

"From what I know, she was pregnant since Hawaii." He turns his head toward the window, "it isn't her fault."

He snaps his head, "you don't think I fucking know that?"

The lights along the street flicker, "don't yell at me!"

"It could have been prevented," he proposes.

No, "it was the entity's doing."

"I want this to be over, all over." Carter brings the cigarette to his lips one more time, "if she was having suspicions, why didn't she tell me?"
