"Follow me!" Vash spoke as he led them back inside.

Norie ran besides Meryl as Nicholas was behind them, she looked behind to see him and then turned to the amber eyed woman next to her.

"Their wasn't a bug on your back"

Norie turned to Meryl who was already looking at her, she didn't respond as she looked away. But then she turned to Nicholas behind her who didn't look.

Why the hell would he tell her she had a bug on her back?

"Why does this ship even have an ion cannon?" Meryl questions.

"It was originally for destroying obstacles. The ship uses parts from the Spacefaring Age."

They ran up some stairs till they reached a blocked out passage with the word: keep out. Vash kicked it down, revealing a dark room. Norie walked in as she looked around, noticing a desk.

"A control room?"

"I've never seen machines like this before"

Vash swiped some dust off a screen, not hesitating to push the needed keys to stop them from striking the orphanage.

"Please work..."

Norie winced at the screens lights when they turned on, the monitors showing the ships different angles. She smiled and said "well damn Vash"

"You did it!" Meryl spoke.

"No, not yet" he responded.

He kept trying to connect to all the parts of the ship but a broken pop up would appear in the screen, he frowned and said "Its not working, I can't move the shaft"

"So you can't stop it?"

"The only way now is to turn the ship or the cannon manually." Vash says

"What? This huge thing?" Roberto spoke up.

He chuckled in sarcasm and says "you can't be serious! Thats-"

"Fine I'll do it"

Norie froze and turned to Nicholas who only turned to them and said "it's the only way right?"

Everyone was silent as Norie sighed and said "I'll come with you"

"And don't you dare argue with me" she cut him off before he could say anything.

"There's no time" Vash spoke as they had made it outside to look up at the cannon.

"That's obvious!" Nicholas spat out.

"Take care of the cannon!"

"Be careful!" Norie called out to Vash as she ran off with Nicholas.

The sound of her heeled boots echoed through the air as the warm breeze was cooling down, Norie turned to Nicholas who was already looking which made him flinch and turn away quickly.
