An observation was made very clearly to you once you decided to take your now captain's offer and join his crew. It was one of the first things you noticed about your random group of friends and it was especially hard to ignore. Sanji, the blonde lovesick cook that was one of the first people to really catch your eye in a while of being out at sea. One of the only people to make your heart flutter and your cheeks flush so easily just at the thought of the blonde. He was so kind and thoughtful, brave and smart, but his love for women was absolutely unbearable.
In your time of joining and becoming a part of the crew he was so kind to you, catering to your every want and desire practically. If you wanted food he would make whatever you wanted, if you wanted a drink he would purposely make what you were craving. You would find yourself in the kitchen, watching him work away doing his favorite thing in the world. Listening to him speak and tell stories about where he used to work and his friends back there. Picturing his father figure Zeff as he would speak about him as he would serve you. The blonde would smile widely and decline your offer of helping wash dishes, yet would let you help anyway since you were so stubborn. In return he would listen to you as well, of your stories from back home, your home life and your friends. It seemed like this persona he kept up dropped as he would speak to you like you were a normal human being. Yet you couldn't ignore the fact that he would be head over heels for the girls on the ship whenever he would see them.
Even though it was strange it was hard to deny your feelings you started to gain for the cook. How laid back he looked if he would lean against the railing with a cigarette resting on his lips. The fact that he was so talented in the kitchen not to mention he was a good listener when you two would speak. You couldn't even get started on his fighting skills either, watching him during battles made your cheeks flush so often it was hard to ignore.
Every day the more time you spent with him the more your heart seemed to hold a place for him. Yet it also seemed like the more you saw him with the girls on board the more your heart shriveled up and ached in pain. Jealousy wasn't your forte, you made the realization that it wasn't Nami and Robin's doing seeking the cook out for his attention. It was merely just what the lovesick cook did, his attention was on you when you were alone but you had to share it with any other lady he seemed to meet or lay eyes on for just a second. Although it did anger you some when Nami would use him from time to time to get what she wanted. But who were you to say anything about it if Sanji didn't mind not one bit. The lovesick cook never minded doing anything for any girl in the world no matter the task.
At this point you were confused, trying to understand why he was so head over heels for every good looking woman he laid eyes on. Trying different outfits to catch his eye, having Nami shop for you once or twice for things you would never wear. Only for him to gawk at you for a little longer than normal. You would ask him for cooking lessons on a relaxing day to spend time with him. Enjoying your alone time yet it seemed like he was always thinking of what he could serve the ladies when he was done. It put a strain on you and your feelings, knowing damn well you couldn't get in the way of what he loved most. You were just another woman to him in his eyes and that was all you would ever be. Knowing you needed to understand that hard truth in order to continue on your day without seeking his attention out anymore. The matter was, you tried. And with trying this feeling of hurt was something you never wanted to deal with again in your life when the sad fact was Sanji could never just choose one girl out of the rest he gawked over. So you were done, trying so much over and over again when there was no way of succeeding so it was only normal to quit.
It was something you decided on a while ago, that you were wasting your time and effort for the cook to notice you in any other way. You didn't want to be catered to like the girls, you wanted to be treated equal and to recognize his hard work he put into his cooking and other things. You wanted him to see you for you and for not just some other hot body. Your love never died down for the cook, there would always be a place in your heart for him. When he was ready you would offer it up again but you couldn't keep this charade going any longer that you were okay with him treating you like any other woman in his life.
