Michael had grasped Luke's hand in his own, guiding the nervous blonde past the trees, past the deck and through the still crowded kitchen. Although it was nearly 1:30am, it was still extremely busy at the frat house. Although the pair were surrounded by pulsating music and a sea of people, they couldn't help but steal glances at each other every so often as they made their way through the house, ensuring that they didn't let go of each other's hand as they didn't want to get separated. Their connection was undeniable, and the chemistry between them was electric.
Luke's hand felt warm and fuzzy in Michael's and the alcohol in his brain was clouding his judgement. He was surprised that he was allowing Michael to drag him through the house like this, their hands in each others. Anyone could have seen them, but he guessed that everyone was too drunk to notice or care. Michael seemed to be in a rush and Luke just didn't feel in control of his own actions right now. He let Michael do what he wanted.
Once they were outside, Michael dropped Luke's hand even though he really didn't want to and the pair stared at each other for a good twenty seconds. People littered the front yard and so Michael nodded in the direction of the path home. Luke nodded and followed after him. It was quiet between the two for a moment before Luke spoke up, his voice quiet. "We just ditched Ashton."
"I'm sure he'll be fine." He dismissed it quickly.
Truth be told, Michael just wanted to leave the party and spend some time with Luke. Alone. The blonde simply nodded his head and followed Michael like a little lost puppy. His heart was hammering in his chest. He was scared to be alone with Michael because he didn't want to make a fool out of himself. He was very shy. Awkward too. He didn't know how to handle himself. The air was cold and the breeze was heavier than earlier and Luke wrapped his arms around himself.
Suddenly, Michael's arm wrapped itself around Luke too and when Luke looked to his side so he could make eye contact with the black-haired boy, Michael was already smiling at him. "You're never gonna learn." He said with a glint in his eye. "Always wear a jacket."
"You're not wearing one either." Luke pointed out quickly, his voice shaking a little bit in nervousness at how close Michael was.
"I never get cold." Michael said matter of factly.
Luke rolled his eyes playfully and decided to settle comfortably in Michael's arms. It was weird, but it was nice. They eventually made it to their building and rode the lift in silence. Once they were in the hallway, Luke couldn't help but stare at his bedroom door as they walked right past it without stopping in their steps. His heart was beating even faster now and he felt like he was about to pass out. Sure, he had spent time in Michael's room before but this was different.
Once inside Michael's bedroom, the energy of the party seemed to fade away, replaced by an intimate silence. It felt like this was their little place to hang out alone. He was so thankful that the green eyed boy didn't have a roommate. Michael turned on his bedside table lamp, casting a warm, soft glow throughout the room. Luke couldn't help but notice the posters of classic rock bands adorning the walls and the newly neatly organized bookshelf on the wall. It wasn't there last week so it was definitely new.
With a playful smile, Michael spoke. "Make yourself comfortable. Can I get you something to drink?" He asked politely and quietly.
"No, i'm fine thanks. I'm done with alcohol for tonight." He said with a look of distaste on his lips. His head was still buzzing slightly but being in this room alone with Michael was definitely sobering him up. Michael pulled off his shoes and placed them neatly on the side of his desk. Luke did the same.
Standing awkwardly in the middle of the room, Luke stared across at Michael. The black-haired boy smiled and took a seat on the edge of his bed. "It's okay. Come sit down." He said gently.
