Many different emotions ran across Carmen's face, but the one that stood out the most was anger. This was saying a lot because Carmen's not an angry person, she usually only ever gets hurt, and the anger she was feeling was stronger than the hurt.

And it was all towards me.

Her eyes never left mine as she responded to me in a harsh tone, "Roxie."

Roxie. I didn't even get a 'hey', or a 'hi', not even a 'hello'. Just Roxie. She was obviously pissed. It was just then that I noticed Kurt's presence in the room. He was watching both of us intensely, as if waiting for a volcano to erupt. So was I.

Kurt stood up with wide eyes. "Was that mom calling? I'm just going to go." He said, making a break for the door. I rolled my eyes, glaring at him on his way out. He stopped at the door and smirked at me.

'Good luck, sis.'

And then he was gone. I turned back to Carmen, who was still glaring at me as if I was an annoying fly who kept flying over her head. We sat like that for a few more minutes, until finally, I couldn't take the silence any more. "Carmen, I'm s-,"

"Save it!" she exclaimed, cutting me off completely. "I don't care what you have to say, and I don't want to hear it. Just save it, Roxie."

I sighed in exasperation, taking a step towards her, but she stepped back abruptly, as if I had a disease. Ouch. "Don't you dare come near me, Roxie. I'm too angry, and I wouldn't be responsible for my actions." She told me, her eyes narrowed.

My eyes widened and my jaw dropped. "Did you just threaten me?" I asked, completely shocked. What the hell had gotten into her? It's like I didn't even know her. It sounded cliché, but that's how I was feeling. No matter how angry she's ever been with me, she's never threatened me. That's when I realized just how angry she was with me.

"Take it how you want to."

"Carmen I-,"

"Where were you?" she asked, but this time her voice was watery and her eyes glassy. I looked up into my best friends eyes and could see the hurt, as clear as day. "You didn't call and you wouldn't even answer me through mind link, and you left so abruptly. You didn't even warn me. What was so important that you had to cut me off completely?"

I sighed. I was going to tell her eventually, I guess now would be a good time. "I had to help Rebecca-,"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute," she cut me off; the hurt seemed to disappear, replaced by anger, again. "You were with Rebecca? You ditched me for Rebecca!?"

I sighed, taking in a deep breath. I understood that she was angry... we're wolves, we're allowed to lose our tempers. But I'm a wolf too, and I was about to lose mine. "Carmen, calm down. I'm trying to explain. She needed my help-,"

"She needed your help? I needed your help! Do you have any idea what I went through the past week?"

I scoffed. "Of course not because you haven't told me!"

"Well, hell. I've been through hell, and I needed my best friend, but you weren't here, were you? No! You were too busy running around the country with Rebecca!"

My face hardened as I stared at the blonde in disbelief. "I was not 'running around the country' and it's not like we were alone, living it up. Blake was there, too-,"

"Blake was there? You've got to be kidding me!" she exclaimed, this time with angry tears streaming down her face. I didn't see the big deal. Why was she suddenly more upset that Blake came along?

"I said I was sorry, what more do you want from me!?" I asked, my body temperature rising. I had had it with her, and I wasn't going to sit here and keep kissing her ass. I tried to apologize, but she wasn't listening.
