No...it can't be.

I slowly raised my hands and grabbed his gauntlet, tricking him into thinking that I was going to try to pull it off of my neck.

"I'll always have my family," I said, in a strained whisper.

And I felt the electricity surge through me again - almost like venom.

It crackled around my fingers and surged through his gauntlet - and shocked the Prowler.

But this venom strike was way more powerful than my last one.

There was no coming back from it.

The Prowler flew backward, breaking the chimney behind him, and skidded on the roof, trying to get a grip on the tiles, but his efforts were in vain. He slammed into an alleyway wall and slid down, his head facing the ground.

Meanwhile, on the house's roof, I gasped and fought for breath, trying my hardest to regain a steady breathing rhythm.

Damn, being choked is no joke.

I stood up after recovering from the Prowler's violent attack and began to celebrate, throwing my arms up in the air.

"Yes! Yes, yes!" I yelled, to no one in particular.

"I did it! I...I beat him."

I laughed and sat on the roof with my palms on the tiles.

"Oh..."

Wait, what if I'm celebrating too soon? I need to find him and check if he's actually unconscious.

I swung off the roof and went to the Prowler, wanting to check if he was still breathing (I hope he was).

I slowly but surely approached him, expecting him to leap off the ground and attack me again. But he seemed to be...injured.

Like, hella injured.

Did I...hit him too hard?

"Let's see who you really are..."

I slowly took off the mask and my heart dropped.

There it was.

The face that I knew for its smiles and laughter.

The face that could be simultaneously funny and stern.

The face that I loved oh so dearly...

"Uncle Aaron?" I asked in barely a whisper, not wanting it to be true.

His head moved up slightly to face me, and my worst fears were confirmed.

The Prowler...was Uncle Aaron.

Man, that Prowler guy creeps me out.

'...multiple sources are confirming that this gruesome murder was indeed committed by the Prowler, an infamous villain who has been terrorizing the city for months now...'

"I'm tellin' ya', man, it's science."

"Stop worryin'; no one's good at it on their first try."

"Guess I'll have to beat the living sh*t out of you again."

"No, no, no, no, no, no, no, what have I done?" I added in a soft voice, cradling his body and laying it down to rest.

"What...you again? Still hauntin' me from the grave-" He coughed and broke off his speech.

"No, no, no, shh, shh, shh, don't talk. We'll...we'll get you to the hospital, okay?" I said.
