Gwen's POV
I was bored out of my mind.
The history teacher droned on and on about some war that happened a thousand years ago with a PowerPoint being presented behind him. Most kids in the class were dozing off or straight up asleep, yet the teacher didn't seem to care. He continued in his monotone, uninteresting voice, further putting off the awake part of the class from paying attention.
I glanced to my right. Miles was leaning on his palm, his eyes half-closed. It seemed as if the teacher had somehow forgotten to change the slide, and we were now stuck here for another 20 minutes. There was nothing to do; even the smartest and most hard-working students were having a hard time staying awake.
A loud yawn sounded from next to me, and the whole class turned to look at the perpetrator - who was, unfortunately, Miles.
"Oh! Is my class boring you, Mr. Morales?" Mr. Bich said, with mock sarcasm.
He looked up at the teacher and furrowed his eyebrows.
"I don't know, maybe?" He mumbled, earning a chorus of quiet giggles and chuckles.
"What was that?" The teacher frowned, an angry expression spreading across his face.
"Nothing, sorry for sleeping in your class," Miles said, not sounding sorry at all.
"Hm." The teacher made a disgruntled noise and turned back to the board, not at all happy with the response he got from Miles.
As Mr. Bich resumed his unvaried lecture, I leaned over to Miles with a half-smile.
"You better be careful, one of these days Mr. Bich is going to really let you have it," I whispered.
He grunted. "Ain't my fault Mr. Bich is more of a Mr. B*tch than anything." He stretched.
I snorted. "Okay, sure."
He looked over at my book. "What have you been doing to keep yourself awake, anyway? I'm practically asleep."
"Uhhh..." I paused.
His expression changed into one of confusion as he turned to face me fully and leaned over to get a good view of my notebook. "Wait, is that-"
"No one!" I slammed my book shut and plastered a fake smile across my face.
"Just...a...model?" I finished my sentence with a questioning tone.
Please believe me please believe me please believe me-
"Okay..." He gave me a look that I couldn't quite read and turned back to face the teacher.
I turned to my left to face the window and leaned on my hand. I wasn't going to tell him what I was drawing. It wasn't a question of what, but more of who.
The truth was a bit embarrassing, and something that I wasn't quite ready to tell him about.
During class, I had gotten so bored that I started doodling in my book; like any other student.
However, I quickly stopped as I found myself drawing Spider-Man in my book for the third time in the last two weeks.
And I had no idea why - and I still don't know.
Why did I think about him so much?
Why was I drawing him so much?
What is wrong with me?
Those were the three questions I was left to ponder as the bell rang and we all but ran out of class, pretending to not hear Mr. Bich crying 'The bell doesn't dismiss you, I do! '
