"DECEMBER THE THIRTY FIRST?" GEORGE ASKED, looking at the two. They were in the Washingtons kitchen, as they always seemed to be, not on stage.
"Yes." Eloise nodded simply, her hand in Thomas'. "It's such a beautiful date, don't you think?" I should note that Eloise had no reason to love the day so much, except that she loved the month of December. I should also note that Eloise loved the prospect of new years. It celebrated new beginnings and new opportunities for everyone, everywhere. A chance to fix past mistakes, mend broken bridges. A chance to bring that girl flowers whose heart you broke that year. A chance to start new beginnings, new commitments. A chance to marry that man you've been after for a while- oh wait.
"Sure, hun." Her father shakes his head a little. "Where are we having it?"
"We were thinking- Monticello." Eloise nods happily. Since her father had stepped down as president, they had moved back to Mount Vernon.
"M- Monticello?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows. "Forgive me, Thomas and 'Louise but, look at this land we have." He gestured to their estate. "I mean- we have a beautiful home."
"We do, but Thomas loves Monticello, and if that's where he wants it that's where we're going to have it." Eloise smiles up at her fiance.
"Sir, I tried to convince her to consider your estate, she wouldn't budge." Thomas explained.
"Monticello is his home, and one day it will be my home as well." Eloise smiled, she tightened her grip on Thomas' hand. "That day is coming, father." She reminded him.
"I know." Washington said, rather quietly.
"Dad." Eloise said, releasing her grip on Thomas' hand and reaching over to hug her father. "I'm not going anywhere okay? I am- but- I'll always be Eloise Virginia Washington, okay?"
"I don't like Eloise Jefferson- it doesn't have the same ring to it." He admitted into his daughters shoulder.
"Let's hyphenate it." Thomas speaks up, and both Eloise and George turn to look at him.
"Brilliant idea Thomas." Washington says.
"Eloise Virginia Washington-Jefferson." Eloise smiles.
"What a name." Thomas shakes his head.
"2 months from now." Eloise reminds them, crossing their small kitchen to mark the date on their calendar.

And those fateful 2 months had come and gone now, and it was the morning of the Monticello wedding. Eloise had stayed at the estate, obviously in a separate wing, her father in the room next to her, Jefferson in his own bedroom across the house.
She rushed out of bed now, on her way to see him before they both went to get ready. Monticello was grand, not that her home wasn't, but her father had much preferred a more traditional home, and Monticello was most definitely unlike that. It was beautiful, with marble floors, grand pillars, and stunning floral arrangements around every corner.
It was hilarious to her, actually, Thomas Jefferson, secretary of state, political genius, had a soft spot for interior decor.
She spotted him then, around the corner of the east wing, seemingly headed for her wing.
"Thomas." She spoke, and his gaze shifted towards her, picking up the pace just a bit while she ran.
They met in the middle of the two hallways, in a sort of sunroom. She threw her arms around his neck, and he spun her around, easily of course, because of his leg.
A/N: guys I just looked it up and HE DIDN'T HAVE A BAD LEG? HE JUST WALKED WITH A CANE FOR HIS 'PERSONA'. So now I'm sad, suck it up, in this story he has a bad leg.
