Your head hurts, no, your everything hurts. Opening your eyes, everything is blurry and unclear. Your first thought is your brother and you get anxious in worry, but then you calm yourself by breathing deep in and out.

Your vision clears some. You're still buckled to your seat in the helicopter. The gravity is making you hang to the left. You look down and se your copilot. Reaching out to his neck, you wait for a pulse, but it never comes.

After finally getting yourself out, you take a breathing. Then you turn back to the helicopter to check the guys back. None of them are alive. You look around, considering just leaving right away to look for Slivko, but you turn back to the guys and drag them out as carefully as you can. You dig the graves, and lay them down taking off their tags and helmets to put over the graves.

Once done, you stand there, sweaty, sad and worried. You're about to bend down to reach the bag of some supplies you got collected the helicopter, when you hear a branch snapping from inside the forest behind you. You reach for the gun on your back and point it toward where the sound came from, your heart beating fast.

James appears from the jungle. You let out a relieved breath, slowly lowering your gun. Then you remember he flew with Slivko. You're about to ask when you hear someone else.

"Yn!" Slivko comes running up from behind him.

"Slivko." You meet your brother halfway and hug him tightly. Then you look him over him for any injuries.

"Are you okay, did you get hurt?"

"I'm okay, well as much as I can be. I hit my head, but the headache is getting better now. What about you, what happened? We saw that ape grab your helicopters tail. It cut its hand. Then you were spinning uncontrollably. I.. I thought.."

"I'm okay, I'm okay." You hug him again, then start moving towards everyone else.

James turn to you. "Are you alright?" He asks, concern written on his face.

"As much as I can be, I guess. How about you?"

"When we saw your helicopter I.. I didn't know what to think.. I'm so glad you're alive." He looks unsure about something by the way he stands while talking, but then he makes up his mind. Closing the distance between you, he embraces you in a hug. You hug him back, and give him a smile when he pulls away.

"We can't stay here, we need to move. Are you ready? We're heading north. There's a river a couple of clicks from here."

Everyone who had sat down for a moment, moves to stand up, adjusting their bags or weapon's. Then you start moving with James and the others.

...

"It's called the hollow earth theory." Brooks says.

You walk in the back to keep watch behind the group. While Slivko followed close behind James, who's in the front, leading the way. Brooks, San, Mason and Nieves are in the middle.

"Randa hired me, because I wrote a paper, substituting what most people think is a crackpot idea. That there is this massive underground spaces isolated from the surface world-"

"Passageways." San interrupts. "Randa believes this land may be one of those."

"For whatever lives below us. Ancient species, like what we just saw." Brooks explains. "I thought he was out of his mind."

"This is Slivko, do you read? Anybody out there? We're headed north. Do you copy? Anybody?" He's trying the radio again.

You don't mind him trying. It keeps him busy and distracted from being nervous, but you can understand that maybe the others are getting annoyed, so you're about to say something when James speaks up instead.

"We're out of range, Slivko. Save it for when we get closer to the group."

You look around out over the water taking in the fascinating land. Suddenly some of the branches that laid in the water start moving. You lift your gun to aim. Something emerge from the water, a buffalo-like creature, much bigger though.

"Nobody move." James says in a low voice. "Easy."

You slowly lower your gun, taking a good look at this big animal. It looks directly at Slivko, who is closest to the creature. His finger is on the trigger. You consider moving to him to calm him, but can't risk how the animal might react to you moving from where you are and over to him. You look to James, who's closer. He's already taking a slow cautious step toward Slivko and raising his arm carefully to the gun, while making a low and long hush sound.

"Put it down." He takes a hold at the gun and slowly brings it down. Soon enough the animal turns around to move away from you.

You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding.
