"We'll have to ask you this question again, Mr. Dazai Osamu," the black-haired detective asked, "How many people have you killed?"
Dazai's face remains calm and gentle.
"If I say a particular number, you won't believe me, would you?" he softly breathes, "If I say I didn't kill anyone, you would push that I did kill people. What answer should I give to satisfy you, hmm?"
The detective takes another deep breath. Dazai remained emotionless. Earlier, he received a call from the police station. From that moment on, his mind can already see where things are going. There are indeed things that can't be hidden forever.
Although this is not what he must prioritize right now.
Chuuya is alone in the mansion. His beloved is all alone. There's no assurance that the people who almost killed the man last night won't come back to harm Chuuya. Though he had already cleaned all the mess and killed everyone who might possibly hurt Chuuya, he can't be too careless. He can't let any danger happen to Chuuya.
What happened last night is a part of his miscalculation. Something that he didn't expect.
And the idea of losing Chuuya will definitely break the thinly loose string of sanity in his system. He would never let that happen.
"We have piles of evidences against you, Mr. Dazai," The detective stated and pulled a plastic bag with a gun inside. Dazai didn't flinch. The detective pulled another plastic bag with clothes.
Dazai remained silent.
"These are found near your private residence."
"How awful. Who would've put those things there?" Dazai replied in the most clueless manner.
The detective looks incredibly annoyed, "The gun belongs to one of your butlers. It was registered to him."
"What a coincidence."
"The butler himself is found dead."
"May he rest in peace."
"You killed him."
"That's such an accusation. I didn't."
"We found some prints and bloodstains on your private property. Where does it come from? We've been investigating you for quite some time now. There are other pieces of evidence pointing at you. What can you say about that?"
"Will anything I say change anything?"
"Yes. Admit your crimes and your penalties might lessen."
"Ah, I'd love to. But I didn't do anything." Dazai leans on his seat as his eyes narrow, "I wasn't informed that you've entered my property. No one showed me any search warrant beforehand. How would I know that you didn't implant evidence in my house? How would I know if between the two of us, you are the one with a tainted hand?"
