Chapter 4

It was early morning, about 7 AM, and it was any other day of school, and Redilyn arrived at their classroom. Kaite followed after and quickly greeted Redilyn with joy.

"Good morning!"

"Good morning," Redilyn greeted back.

After which, they talked casually... until Xielo arrived.

"Hey, ladies," he greeted the two as they looked at him.

"Hi, Xielo. Good morning," Redilyn greeted while Kaite replied, "Hey."

"Yes, good morning," Xielo replied. "By the way, Redilyn, there's something I want to ask you."

Redilyn looked at him. "Yes, what is it?"

"It's about the—"

"Oh, I remembered it now!" Kaite suddenly exclaimed. "There's something I want to show you, Redilyn," Kaite grabbed her hand and pulled her away from her desk. "Hurry up. You don't really want to miss this."

"Wait Kaite," but she didn't finish what she was about to say because they had already left the classroom. She couldn't stop her but she's wondering at least if Kaite knew Xielo was about to ask her something.

Then came recess time, and while they were fixing their things,

"Hey, Redilyn," Xielo called again. "About what I said earlier—"

"Oh, sorry, but I need to borrow Redilyn again for a moment," Kaite suddenly interrupted and even hugged Redilyn's arm.

Xielo was a bit surprised. "But you already took her with you a while ago—"

"It's different this time. So have fun eating recess on your own," Kaite interjected and pulled Redilyn away again. For a girl like her, she's quite strong to be able to grab Redilyn away.

Xielo just watched them go, full of confusion on his face. At this point, both Redilyn and Xielo are baffled by Kaite's unusual actions. Although Redilyn hadn't said anything or tried to question her friend about it, she patiently stayed quiet first.

Then came lunch, both Redilyn and Kaite were already carrying their trays with their lunch on them and walking down the hallway when,

"Hey, wait up!" Xielo exclaimed as he caught up with the two.

The three went to their usual place, settled down, and after which,

"So anyways, Redilyn," Xielo started. "What I wanted to ask to you is about—"

"Oh, hey guys, have you done your homework for Science that we will pass later on?" Kaite interjected again. "I kind of forgot to answer it last night."

"Oh yes, I answered mine," Redilyn replied. "You can copy mine if you want."

"Thanks, Redilyn," Kaite smiled.

As Redilyn was digging in her bag to look for that homework,

"Well, while you're doing that," Xielo went in. "If you don't mind, Redilyn, but it's just bothering me—"

"Oh hey, Redilyn," Kaite interjected. "How about our homework for Math later on—"

SPLKSSH TINGLING!

The sound of cutlery violently landing on someone's plate was heard. Everyone fell quiet because of that, and both girls looked at Xielo in no time.

He's forcing a smile, but both girls know he's already annoyed with the face he's showing.

"Say Kaite," he said in a serious tone. "Are you actually doing that on purpose?" he tried to sound friendly, but both girls knew that was not what they heard when he asked that.
