Chapter 8

As soon as Redilyn recognized all his facial features, she was stuck staring at the unusual golden eyes he possessed.

It couldn't be... this guy could not be Xielo... but he looks exactly like him, only the eyes are different. How can that be possible in the first place anyway?

No... no, this... this can't be...

"Redilyn," Xielo called, which made Redilyn go back to reality, still staring back at the man in front of her.

Her eyes were full of fear, and tears were starting to form, making her sight look cloudy.

"Listen Redilyn," Xielo continued and stepped forward to where she was. "...let me explain—"

"Stay back," Redilyn muttered.

Xielo heard that even though she just whispered it. But he continued to advance and even went into the prison cell through the door just to approach her. "Redilyn I—"

"I said stay back!" Redilyn suddenly shouted that stopped Xielo in his place.

Redilyn backed away until her back bumped into the wall again. Her body became weak in no time, and sat on the floor when her legs went numb. Her whole body trembled so bad as she was staring back at Xielo, full of fear in her face, especially her eyes.

Xielo's eyes widened while looking back at her in that state. As he was looking at her, he pitied her so much and wanted to hug her just to let her know she was safe with him, and out of reflex, he did advance another step, but that move startled Redilyn more.

"No, please..." she started to cry. "Do-Don't kill me... have mercy... please don't kill me... ha-have mercy please..."

Xielo stopped at his place again in surprise. Those crying words were the same as what happened... back in the forest. It was the same situation.

It hurt Xielo so much that he quickly turned away with his head bowed down. As he walked away,

"Release her," Xielo commanded Nigel, who is now beside him.

"But Alpha—"

"I said..." Xielo stated in a deep dark voice and gave back a glare to his Beta. "...release her."

Nigel was shaken from his place after that and bowed in no time.

"A-As you wish, Alpha," Nigel obediently answered as the Alpha turned his back from him and walked away.

As soon as he got out, Nigel glanced back at the scared girl in the prison cell. The door of the prison cell was still open, so he looked directly at the girl on the floor, with her back glued to the wall.

"You are free to go," Nigel said as he paved a way for her to leave, but Redilyn didn't even look at him and continued to tremble in her place.

Nigel breathed a sigh and quickly went inside to approach the scared lady. But as soon as Redilyn noticed his presence and saw him approaching her,

"Help! Help!" she started to shout in panic and cried. She even tried to look around the room to see where she could hide and run away from the Beta. "Someone! Please help me!"

Nigel stopped at his place because of that.

"Calm down, Miss Redilyn," he said gently. "I am not going to hurt you."

"No... please," she ignored that and still continued to cry. "Someone... help me..."

Nigel cannot move in his place as he witnessed the situation in front of him. She is so helpless and fragile. Such a girl to be the mate of their Alpha, and thinking about that, Nigel tried to be really careful since he knows the Alpha is a bit agitated now with how he glared at him a while ago, so if he senses that his mate was hurt by him, it might be the end of him. What should he do?
