"You know," He sighed shifting his gaze to look out in front of him, "My father, was a loveless, violent drunk, who used his fists. No good to anybody. Drove me from home when I was 15. Didn't lay eyes on this place again for many years."
I picked at the skin on my fingers, "Why are you telling me this?" I asked quietly.
"Because I think you need to know, that no matter how hard things are, there's always a light at the end of the tunnel."
I scoffed and heaved myself up from the steps, "I don't need a damn shrink."

We were all gathered around the campfire eating breakfast, Carol walked over to me setting some eggs onto my plate.
"Thank you Carol." I said quietly.
I sat off on my own, the incident with Hershel yesterday brought back some demons I thought I had gotten rid of.
Daryl scooted his chair closer to me as he took a bite of some eggs, "You alright?" he asked in between chews.
"Yeah." I said quietly. "I'm fine." I pushed the eggs around with my fork.
He studied my face before speaking again, "I'm gonna go back out lookin' for the little girl again. Wanna come?"
I smiled at him, "Sure. Someones gotta keep your ass safe."
He scoffed lightly kicking my foot
"Um, guys."
Glenn was standing with his hands in his pockets, "so... the barns full of walkers."
Everyone stopped what they were doing, now all their attention was on Glenn, who looked so anxious.
Shane was the first one to make a move, next was Rick and Daryl who dropped their plates and followed after Shane who was making his way to the barn. Everyone else followed, gathering around at the front of the barn. Shane getting close to the door to peek inside.
"You cannot tell me you're all right with this." He marched back to Rick.
"No I'm not. but we're guests here. This isn't our land." Rick said
"Okay, we've either got to go in there, we've gotta make things right or we've just got to go." Shane readjusted his hat on his head, "Now we have been talkin' about Fort Benning for a long time."
Rick stuck out his arm, "We can't go."
"Why, Rick? Why?" Shane was growing frustrated.
"Because my daughter is still out there." Carol said.
"Okay." Shane covered his mouth with his hands, "I think it's time that we all start to just consider the other possibility."
"Unfuckingreal." I scoffed. "If it doesn't benefit you it's a waste of time huh?"
"I'm just being realistic! Unlike some of y'all!" Shane shouted.
"Don't yell at her." Daryl grabbed my hand pulling me behind him as he stepped closer to Shane, "I'm close to findin' this girl, I found her doll two days ago."
"You found her doll, Daryl. That's what you did. You found a doll."
"You don't know what the hell you're talkin' about!" Daryl said flinging his arm around.
"I'm just sayin' what needs to be said! You get a good lead, its in the first 48 hours!" Shane shouted.
"Shane stop." Rick tried to get Shane attention.
