Jessica's POV

20 minutes later there was a knock on the door, he entered after a come in.
"Are you ready to leave?"
"Yes" I said without even looking at him, I grabbed my stuff and walked past him out of the door.

I could tell from his expression that he wanted to say something but he refrained.
We walked quietly to the compound.

As soon as we got to his car he came to open my side of the door for me.

I mouthed a very faint thank you and sat inside.
The car ride was so awkward and quiet, I couldn't stand the silence, so I did the one thing that came into mind, I called Romeo. If he was around, I wanted him to drop me off rather, being in this car with him is suffocating me.

- [ ] Romeo: Hello Princess
As soon as I heard his voice a smile crept on my face
- [ ] Me: hello Romeo
- [ ] Romeo: you good?
- [ ] Me: absolutely, what about you
- [ ] Romeo: I'm better now that I've heard your voice
I giggled, from my peripherals I could see Arman grip the steering wheel so hard. What crept up his pants this time around
- [ ] Me: You're just too funny, I was calling to ask if you're anywhere around Stanford street
- [ ] Romeo: Today is your lucky day princess, I'm actually around the place to get something
- [ ] Me: great, can you please pick me up in a few minutes time at the bus stop. Pretty please
- [ ] Romeo: no problem, call me when you get there
- [ ] Me: thank you, you're such a life saver

As soon as I ended the call, Arman drove to the side and parked

"Why would you call some guy to come pick you up" I was surprised by how cold he sounded

"Because I don't like how awkward we are, and it's also none of your business"

"None of my business?"
"Yes, it's none of your business, you were the one who didn't want me in your life"

He passed his hand on his face frustrated, "Jessica, you know what I meant"

"Of course I know what you meant, that is why this is none of your business"

He looked at me as if wanting to say something but he stopped himself.

Just like I thought, he moved the car, I asked him to drop me off at Standford street.

Romeo's car was already there by the time we got there.
I made a move to leave the car only for him to grab my hands.

I turned to him, looking at him expectantly, waiting for him to say I should stay, that he wants me, something to make me stay.
I wanted to know what he'll do next so I waited.

He took off his seat belt and then grabbed my cheeks, he brought his face closer ready to kiss me, but I put my hand on his chest to stop him.

"I won't have you play with my emotions , Arman. You can't kiss me one minute and then regret the next minute. I'm not a doll" I was fuming with anger.

"If you really want me, show me that you do, and stop playing with my emotions" as soon as I finished pouring out my frustrations, I exited the car.

You could see the frustration in the way I walked, as I got closer, Romeo came out to open the door for me.

I dropped my head in my hands immediately I put my seat belt on

"Are you okay?" Romeo sounded so worried, and because I didn't want him to worry about me, I had to find an excuse.

I can't just tell him everything, especially after we almost kissed me at the race. He clearly likes me.
"I'm just experiencing some period cramps",
"Oh! shoot, is there something I can do to help" I smiled at him, why can't I like Romeo, why should my heart beat for someone who clearly doesn't want me.

"I just need to rest, I'll be fine" that seemed to calm him down a little.

The car ride was quiet, I had a lot going on in mind to keep a conversation with Romeo.

As soon as he parked the car at the hostels garage, I stepped out after a thank you, only for him to get down too.

"Where are you going?" I was really curious, "taking you to your room Princess"
"Don't worry about me, I'll manage"
"Nope, after putting you through that hassle at the race, this is the least I could do. Please let me do this"

I gave it a little thought and then allowed him to follow me to my room.

As soon as we got in, I excused myself to go get changed.
I came out to meet Romeo in the kitchen boiling water.
"Woah, what's happening here"
"Well, I read on google that hot water helps when one is experiencing period cramps" I burst out laughing.

"You actually looked for that for me?" I was just so grateful, even though I was clearly not on my period.
After I drank the hot water, he tucked me into my bed, I slept shortly after.

When I woke up, it was so dark already, I got up to check if Romeo left. He had left a note for me saying, I was peacefully sleeping so he didn't want to wake me up, and he also ordered food for me.
Jeez! How can my heart not beat for him, whyyyyyyyy

How do you stop your heart from beating for someone you shouldn't feel that way about??

Like sometimes there are actually people who like you a lot that would make you happy

I guess the heart wants what it wants
