Arman's POV

As I exit her room, I dial Adrik's number, "have you found her" his voice comes through before I'm able to speak
"I couldn't, but I reached her kidnapper"
"Dammit! She's been kidnapped!, what is the next step"
"That's why I called, we have to meet before my dad arrives, there's trouble"
"I'm going to meet you at your room in the next few minutes"
I drop my phone and begin to pace, I have to act quick, I have to think fast, I can't believe that bastard gave me less than 48 hours. Who the fuck is he to bark orders at me
The bastard doesn't know what will happen to him when I get hold of him, I'm going to slowly torture him until he joins his friends in hell.
An idea pops into my mind, I have no time to process or wait to hear from Adrik if it's a good idea before I'm dialing the only person I know would help me
"To what do I owe this pleasant surprise" if I didn't know this man any better and didn't know he could be dangerous when needed, I would have said he's such a pussy.
I don't know how a person could be so dangerous and at the same time so childishly annoying. I rub my nose in annoyance
"I need your help"
"Prince Charming needs help"
"I don't have time for your antics today, Pedro"
"You're no fun"
"What can I help daddy's boy with"
"For the love of God, stop calling me that"
I hear his annoying laughter through the phone
"Alright, I'll try to be civil for a while"
"A friend of mine has been kidnapped, and I'll need your expertise"
"Is it Adrik"
"No"
"Gab"
"No"
"Phi..."
"No one you know of" I cut him off before he guesses more names. "How don't I know this friend of yours"
"That's besides the point"
"In as much as I'm an inquisitive person, I have to know this details to be able to help you"
"Fine, her name is Jessica"
"You have a girlfriend?"
I'm starting to regret asking this man for help, "she's not my girlfriend"
"We'll talk about that later, why are you not using your fathers men to help you"
"He can't find out about her, and the asshole is asking for the impossible"
"What does he want in return for your girl" i hiss silently at the your girl, funnily I like the sound of that, just not from this infuriating man. I'm definitely not going to hear the end of this
"Giovanni"
"Fuck"
"Exactly what I thought"
"You'll have to come over for this"
"I'll be at your place at 6 in the evening"
I hear the sound of my door opening and Adrik walks through the door panting.
"Text me her details and contact, I may be able to track him down through her phone"
"Who was that" he questions me right after I hang up the call
"Pedro"
"You called annoying Pedro, you must really like Jessica"
"Shut up man" I see the amusement dancing in his eyes, even a fool could see I care about her, but that's the issue, I didn't intend to, but the pull I feel anytime I'm close to her drives me mad. The way I want to drag her to my bed and devour her, watch her writhe in my arms as I do all the wicked things I've been wanting to do to her in all my dreams. I use to think I'm only attracted to her, but clearly it's goes beyond that, else I won't be working my ass to rescue her.
"So what's the way forward"
"He wants me to be at his place at six, he's planning to track her phone down"
"At least that is good for now"
"Your dad may arrive anytime soon, so we better go there, you know how we can be"
Throughout the meeting with my dad and the other relevant people present, for the first time I'm not concentrating. I'm etching for the meeting to be over so I go over to Pedro and know the way forward, know if he has any leads.
There's something about the naked beaten body of Jessica that makes me angry. I can't wait to rip his heart out of his body when I finally find him
"Arman" Adrik's elbow connects to my side and my eyes lands straight into the glaring eyes of my dad
"Ты меня слышал?"(Did you hear me)"
"Прости, что ты сказал? (I'm sorry, what did you say)"
He takes longer to look at me because it's the first time he's repeating something to me during an important meeting, I try to hide my expression so that he doesn't detect any hint of anger or worry on my face
"Мы планируем объединить римскую семью и нашу(We are planning on uniting the Roman family and ours)"
I look at him confused, that hardly has anything to do with me. The confusion on my face is visible enough for him to further explain
"Ты женишься на их наследнике (You're getting married to their heir)" if it was in the past, I won't give a fuck, but right now, a certain someone has got me thinking about this decision. It's not like I plan on marrying her, but the idea of being with someone else no more sits well with me. Right now I'm in front of all this people, I know I can't object to my father, but I've got to speak to him after I'm done sorting out Jessica's issue.
"Okay Papa"
He nods in satisfaction, the look on Adrik's face tells me he knows I'm not happy about this arrangement.
That is how it has always been in this family, everything feels more like a transaction than a family discussion, my dad speaks with finality in his voice every-time when he should rather be seeking for my permission.
As soon as the meeting ends, I'm already dialing Pedro's number and making him aware of the fact that I'm coming over.
Adrik trudges behind me and enters the car. No talks are made in the car as I'm sure each of us has something going on in our minds
I may not fully know Adrik, but I know he cares about Jessica, and is worried about her.
