"Well, I'm happy for you. I know how long you've liked her," Haru says, encouraging his best friend. "It's great to see you finally getting a shot with her. Maybe you'll have a better shot than me." Due to Haru's response, it prompted Chaeyoung to ask, "What happened with Jennie?"

Haru then explains how Jennie cheated on him, but it didn't hurt too bad because he was never fully in love with her. He admits that he had some doubts about their relationship from the beginning, and deep down, he knew they weren't meant to be.

"You still think about her? Your love?" Chaeyoung asked. Haru knew who Chaeyoung was referring to. The girl Haru had adored for so long.

"Yeah..."

"Hyung, you gotta explore your options. I know how great that girl is because of how you described her to me, but I want you to fall in love. I thought Jennie could help you let go of her, but it seems like your feelings for her are still strong." Chaeyoung paused for a moment, searching for the right words. "Hyung, I don't know if you'll ever meet that girl again. Sometimes, it's hard to let go of someone you've loved for so long, but maybe it's time to consider other options."

Haru sighed, his gaze drifting off into the distance. "I understand what you're saying, Chae. But it's not that simple. It's hard to let go of those memories." Chaeyoung nodded empathetically since he was somewhat in the same boat.

"I did put myself out there recently; I thought our feelings were mutual, but she rejected me," Haru shared, his voice tinged with disappointment.

"Aww, my poor Haru-yah, it's fine; there are plenty of other amazing girls out there," Chaeyoung says in a baby voice, trying to comfort Haru. Which made Haru crack a small smile.

They started drinking and catching up, and Haru felt a little relief to have his best friend back. Ever since he graduated, they hadn't seen each other as often as they used to but kept in touch through phone calls and texts, maintaining the bond despite the distance. They reminisced about their college days, the late-night study sessions, and the crazy adventures they had together. Haru couldn't help but feel grateful for their friendship, knowing that no matter how much time passed, they would always have each other's backs.

The next day, while Haru was working, he heard many girls giggling and trying to look through Mina's door. Haru, curious, asked the girls what was going on. The girls then tell him that a suitor came and was with Ms. Myoi. The girls were swooning over the guy, as he was handsome and it seemed he came from a rich family just from the way he was dressed. Haru's face went from smiling to no expression; he did not know how to feel about it.

The girls, seeing that, quickly reassured him that he was still their favorite, making Haru embarrassed and laugh. Haru thanked the girls for their reassurance and playfully patted their heads, but deep down, he couldn't help but feel insecure. 4 p.m. hit, and he gathers his things and is about to leave as he's finished work. As he leaves the office, he bumps into Mina, who's holding a bouquet in her hand and bags of luxury gifts. They paused for a moment, and then a guy appeared next to Mina, wrapping his arm around her shoulder. When Haru saw the guy, he was startled; it was Chaeyoung.

"Hyung, surprise," Chaeyoung said with a big puppy smile on his face.

"What's going on?" Haru stutters while trying to understand the situation.

"Sorry Hyung I should have told you sooner, but I wanted to surprise you. This is Myoi Mina, my childhood best friend, and... maybe my future girlfriend."

Haru's eyes widened in shock as he processed Chaeyoung's words. It felt like all the air was sucked out of the room. Haru's heart sank as he realized that Mina was the girl Chaeyoung had been talking about.
