A/u where he has an ice core not a protecting core or other - Either hates or loves the cold. Freezing his ass off and/or cannot generate body heat (which being half human he needs) because of his ice core, or he is THRIVING, his cold powers are finally in a place where they do not start melting and he blends into the surroundings and snow perhaps more than any human should.

Being an ancient of space Danny is used to and immune to sub-zero temperatures (and no oxygen and/or vacuum environments), this results in him scaring the crap out of Lancer (who I've always saw as a nice guy trying his best to keep his students afloat, and sometimes an accidentally father figure to Danny) when he comes to school in his usual outfit during a snow storm.

Batman died in crime alley along with his parents, he is the ghost of Gotham and the Knight of King Phantom (who allowed him a human form and to live life as Bruce Wayne). Batman scares the sh!t out of the league several times before they realise whats up and it's become his favourite hobby to spook new members

Danny works with the justice league, he uses his powers to make his hazmat suit look a little less real and a little more hero, he keeps the mask though. They all figured out he was a ghost and left the hazmat suit alone out of respect, they all figured out he had died in it after all, and despite having fought many battles together, they couldn't get a name, he only went by Phantom, nothiing else, not even a face which was okay, but still.
One day, in battle his mask gets blown off, and he's a child. He starts hyperventilating when he realises it's gone, but quickly shoves it down, radiating that kind of energy they all knew 'I'm having a panic attack but will hold it back until later out of necessity'
"Woah kid, we aren't going to hurt you, we jsut expected you to be a little older. It doesn't matter." Superman said kidnly and he took a step forwards but Ohantom jumped into the sky and his whole body langage radiated defensivness, I was just happy he hand't flown away yet.
"I'm not- you can't- they-" Phantom took a deep breathe "You can't send me to CPS, no matter what they tell you, their wrong and liars and being forced into giving me up. If you try to tell them anything I will dissapear, you will never hear form me again." Phantom swore, he looked years older than he clearly was. His baby face cemented in pain and grief. Superman hesiated but no one wnted him to do anything
"We- we won't. Just explain." Superman said
"The anti-ecto acts, a leagel genocide of ghosts lead by a goverment organisation, my parents found out I was ghost, they tried to disect me. Then I got away and the called the goverment to tell them who I am." Phantom explained, I could already tell Batman was forming a plan and Supermans heart was breaking
"We won't do anything like that, just, you've been homeless then, let us take care of you just for a bit."

There's a ghost attack that actually manages to hurt Danny the the point of bringing him close to the end of his half-life, he bleeding out and trying to protect a group of students when the ghost swings it's tail at Danny and out of instinct he opens a portal to the ghost realm and brings them all into Clockworks tower. Clockwork shows up and Danny (who is half delusional from loss of blood and gave up all pretences a while ago) hugs him and calls him dad then passes out
