It was another late night of studying the grimoire. She flipped through the book as Gabriel observed the translations on the tablet, sitting on the other side of her bed. His hair was disheveled and his glasses were slipping from his face.
Sighing in frustration, he ran a hand through his hair, further ruining it. "I still can't figure this out," he grumbled tiredly. "We have the charm but I don't have a clue what to do now."
Nathalie glanced at the clock. "It's late. We should work on it more in the morning."
He leaned back against the headboard, eyes struggling to stay open. "Wonderful idea."
Closing the grimoire, she set it on the nightstand. She looked at Gabriel to bid him goodnight, but he was already asleep. Smiling, she switched off the lamp. Before she could fully settle, he tilted to the side, head falling to her shoulder.
Nathalie froze for a moment but leaned her head against his. Maybe she'd have a stiff neck in the morning, but she found she didn't mind.
