Alastor POV
"That cat demoness was quite something, wasn't she sir?" My shadow whispered to me as I explored my newly acquired territory. "Yes, I'll give you that. To think, a little thing like her would have the nerve to use such a tone with the Radio Demon himself. She must not know who I am to speak in such a manner!" My shadow appeared to roll his eyes at my words.
"Or she does and she just doesn't care. I mean, you did just win her own father's soul. She probably hates you, or at least holds some resentment for you because of it." I opened my mouth to speak but was immediately distracted by a voice from somewhere in the house. It was beautiful, so beautiful that it made me lose my train of thought.
I looked towards my shadow only to find him running off in the direction of the sound. I shook my head and followed, I would be lying if I said I didn't want to know who owned such a voice. As I got closer to my shadow I noticed he was peaking behind the corner of the wall with his "eyes" closed as he listened.
I took my place next to him and peaked my head past the corner. It was her. Husker's daughter. If my memory served me right, her name was Y/n. Her tail swung softly back and forth as she sang without care, not thinking she was being watched. She appeared to men making breakfast, and instead of interrupting her song by speaking, I retreated behind the corner and listened till she came to a stop. "Papa! Breakfast is done! Come before it gets cold!" I stayed behind the corner for a few minutes, hoping she would continue her beautiful song, but alas, she simply took her place at the table and began to eat.
I stepped from the wall nonchalantly, making it seem as though I had just been passing through. She sat at the table, wonderfully set with three seats. One was at the end of the table filled by her, one at the other end of the table, and one in the middle. Across the table a selection of eggs, bacon, sausage, and pancakes were set out with a pot of coffee. I walked to the middle seat, assuming the other end of the table was to be filled by her father, and sat. "Feel free to help yourself, Alastor. If you'd like something else I'm sure you can do it yourself." Her words came out as polite as she wanted them to, yet behind them she didn't try to hide her feelings of not wanting me there.
My smile grew wider as I plated my breakfast, "not at all my dear! It would be rude of me to decline something that was made for me. I do appreciate the gesture." She gave me a nod in response as she continued to eat, shifting her focus to that ridiculous little electronic rectangle. I wasn't much a fan of "normal" food, but seeing as how she had made the effort to make enough for me, I accepted it gratefully. Mother always said it was rude to say no to food because the individual had spent time to cook it.
Remembering my mother I began to think back on all of the memories of my past life. I bit into the fluffy pancakes, remembering a time my mother had made them the morning of my birthday every year. I was so lost in thought I hadn't heard the two cat demons talking to each other. Only snapping out of it when my name was called. "Alastor? Were you listening?"
"My apologies, it seems I was lost in thought my dear." Y/N rolled her eyes and flicked her ear in what I assumed was annoyance.
"Would you like me to make another pot of coffee? You didn't touch yours and now it's cold, there isn't any left in the pot." She crossed her arms as she spoke, she really had quite the attitude. Only unknown to her, it made her far more entertaining.
"That would be wonderful! If you would be so kind." I handed her the mug of now cold liquid with a large smile plastered on my face. She took it, rather unhappily, then walked off to the kitchen with the mug and empty coffee pot. I watched as she left, her tail swinging from left to right as her heels clicked against the floor. Interrupted by the sound of a man clearing his throat, I shifted my gaze to the man beside me.
"You may own my soul now, but keep your distance from my daughter."
